MWF to dispatch relief goods of Rs. 5 million for quake victims: Dr Raheeq Abbasi

An emergency meeting of Central Working Council (CWC) of Minhaj-ul-Quran International was held yesterday in the central secretariat with Nazim-e-Ala Dr Raheeq Abbasi in the chair. The CWC decided to dispatch relief goods of Rs. 5 million to the earthquake-affected areas immediately. Nazim-e-Ala Dr Abbasi gave special instructions to the Nazim of Minhaj Welfare Foundation (MWF), Dr Shahid Mahmood, and instructed him to send food items, warm clothes, tents, medicine and blankets to the affected areas on war-footing basis. A special prayer was also made for the departed souls of those who lost their life in the earthquake.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi said that in keeping with its traditions, the Minhaj Welfare Foundation would leave no stone unturned to help out the suffering brothers and sisters of Baluchistan. He said special instructions have been issued to the foreign sub-branches of MQI for collection of donations for the earthquake victims in Baluchistan. It should be kept in mind that the decisions in the meeting were taken in the background of special instructions of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri to undertake massive relief and rehabilitation operations in the quake hit areas.
