Collaborative efforts needed for succesful response to challenges: Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that if the Muslim Umma revived its relationship with knowledge and took to its learning and promotion, there was no reason why it could not regain its lost glory. He said others made phenomenal progress in economic, political and scientific domains by acting upon the golden principles of Islam, whereas the Muslim Umma traded the values of its forefathers for degradation and decline. He expressed these views while delivering a telephonic speech to the Central Working Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International the other day. He regretted the fact that the Muslims, despite being blessed with abundance of economic resources and quality human resource, could not become political and economic power because the rulers of the Muslim world chose to prefer their own vested interests to the national ones. Shaykh-ul-Islam said that the Muslims were living in low self esteem because the political power of Islam was weak and disoriented. OIC also failed to play any meaningful role to abate these miseries with the result that the Muslims in Kashmir, Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan were the incarnation of helplessness. "There is a need for the Muslim rulers to sit jointly and formulate policies at the collective level to rid themselves of raging crises. We need to give our generation peaceful and prosperous future," Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri concluded.
