Governor Punjab Salman Taseer visits Minhaj University

Governor Punjab Salman Taseer visited the new campus of Minhaj University Lahore. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Nazir Romani, members Board of Governors Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Ameer-e-Tehreek Minhaj-ul-Quran International Sahibzada Faiz-ur-Rahman Durrani, Nazim-e-Aala Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Naib Nazim-e-Aala Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, Malik Muhammad Aslam Advocate, Registrar Col. (r ) Muhammad Ahmad, Deputy Registrar G.M. Malik, Controller Examinations Chaudhry Muhammad Yaqub, Pir Khalil-ur-Rehman Chishti, Deans of Faculties Dr Ali Muhammad, Dr Zahid Lodhi, Dr Naseer Akhtar, Dr Aslam Ghouri, Dr Akber Saeed, Dr Talib, Dr Ali Akber Qadri, Prof Nawaz Zafar, Mufti Abdul Qayyum Khan and other teachers of the University were also present at the occasion. Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi briefed the Governor Punjab about the activities of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Minhaj Welfare Foundation and Minhaj Education Society, whereas Col. (r ) Muhammad Ahmad gave a comprehensive briefing to the Governor about the performance of various departments of the University.

Speaking at the occasion, Governor Punjab said that the placement of Minhaj University in the 'W' category was due to the high standards of the University. Paying tribute to the services of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri in the fields of education, welfare and interfaith harmony, Salman Taseer said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri was a precious asset of the nation who had devoted himself fully to the cause of welfare, education and global peace. He said that whatever he knew about the University from different sources had seen it himself during the visit. Vice Chancellor Dr Nazir Ahmad Romani briefed the Governor about the upcoming projects. He told that feasibility for initiation of faculties of Law, Pharmacy, Engineering and Technology had been completed. Dr Nazir Ahmad Romani thanked Governor Punjab and other participants at the end.
