Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri expresses grief over death of Irshad Ahmad Haqqani

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, founding leader and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of senior journalist, renowned columnist and editor of Daily Jang, Irshad Ahmad Haqqani. In his condolence message from Canada, he paid glowing tribute to Mr. Irshad Ahmad Haqqani for his journalistic services, which were spread over many decades. Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that with the death of Irshad Ahmad Haqqani, a glorious chapter in the history of Pakistani journalism came to an end. The void left by his sad demise would never be filled. He said that Mr. Haqqani belonged to the rare generation of columnists and political commentators whose writings were read and appreciated widely due to their objectivity and depth of analysis. He was an institution in himself who continued to inspire many youngsters and new entrants in the field with his ideas and conduct. He said that when the history of independent Pakistani journalism gets written, his name would figure out quite prominently. He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in peace.

Meanwhile, Sahibzada Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, president of MQI Supreme Council, Sahibzada Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, president of MQI Federal Council, Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, Amir-e-Tehreek, Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Secretary General of MQI, Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, Deputy Secretary General, Anwar Akhtar Advocate, Secretary General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, G.M. Malik, Director of Foreign Affairs and other leaders have also expressed their grief and sorrow over the death of Mr. Irshad Ahmad Haqqani.
