Terrorism product of injustice & poverty: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that culture of terrorism and lawlessness has taken birth from the womb of present system. He said that the Constitution will not become supreme by preaching to that extent but through justice. He said that those who killed innocent people in Model town on June 17, 2014 remain out of purview of law and secure in their positions of power asking can such an injustice be expected or imagined in any real democratic society. He said that justice system, which has been taking notice of petty matters, remains silent on the killing of innocent civilians, asking why?

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views while talking to the members of the PAT Core Committee on telephone yesterday. He said that violation of human rights result in extremism. He said that the people continue to suffer adversities of life in the presence of the so-called democratic government. He said that the problems have become so complex that the people do not have a shoulder to rest their head against and weep over the sorry state of affairs.

The PAT chief said that police killed innocent civilians in broad day light on June 17 while the whole media covered the gory incident of terrorism live. He said that those who were wronged were kept deprived of their right to register an FIR. It was followed by hundreds of arrests to keep the wronged people away from demanding justice. He said that the roads were blocked and the people were confined in four walls of their homes but the institutions responsible for provision of justice and human rights organizations did not sprint into action. He said that the target killers are proclaiming to kill at the behest of the advisors and the ministers but they roam around under full protocol and security detail.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said had there been rule of law in the country, there would not have been such lawlessness. He said that the PAT workers rendered the sacrifice of their life for change in the oppressive system, adding that our struggle would continue peacefully till achievement of destination. He said that the nation will have to come out for justice and for conferment of their fundamental rights.

The PAT leader expressed his deep sense of grief and sorrow on the death of renowned intellectual, poet and columnist Jamil-ud-Din Aali. He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.
