He said that there are a few prerequisites to wake up from slumber which if not fulfilled may lead one to the world of perpetual sin.

Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that Allah Almighty described 8 precautions to stay away from sins:

  1. One should have a company of the pious people. A bad company leads one to the world of sins and vices.
  2. One should avoid being a blind follower of one’s desires.
  3. One should adopt the habit of spending in the way of Allah, for whatever we have will be destroyed and whatever is given in the way of Allah will be beneficial.
  4. The exalted in the eyes of Allah is he who is most pious. A pious man distinguishes between ‘halal’ and ‘haram’ and this distinction is the sign of Iman.
  5. One should be happy with whatever Allah has given one, for it is sufficient and beneficial for us.
  6. Only Satan will be considered as one’s enemy and one should have a relationship of love with one’s fellow human beings.
  7. One should stay away from greed and lust, for it bogs one down in a vicious cycle.
  8. One should have one’s complete belief in Allah only. It is He who has power on profit and loss.

Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that when we catch some physical ailment, we seek a treatment from the doctor, comply with his instructions, take the medicine prescribed by him and regain our health in a hospitable environment, likewise we should also do the same when it comes to the spiritual diseases. We should desire for the company of the blessed people of Allah and act upon their pieces of advice for spiritual reform. He said that the ultimate destination for any believe is the Day of Reckoning and those being oblivious to it should wake up from their slumber and put their act together. We should reduce our dependence on this temporary world and establish a relationship of love and dedication with Allah Almighty.
