MQI announces to observe Aug 24 as ‘Youm-e-Azmat-e-Mustafa (pbuh)’

MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that Islam has given peace and respect to humanity. He said that those who have made blasphemous caricatures are the worst enemies of humanity. They are playing havoc with the global peace and undermining our cherished values of tolerance and respect for each other. He said that blasphemous attitude about the holy personages is reflection of diseased mindset and nothing short of terrorism. He said that no mentally sane and balanced person can ever think of committing such an act. ‘The world needs to be purged of such mischievous people who are pushing the world into a state of clash. They are enemies of humanity. The UN, OIC, Human Rights Council, and European Union need to take urgent steps to stop the government of Holland from publishing the caricatures,’ he added.

The PAT Secretary General made these remarks while addressing a prayer ceremony held at the central secretariat on the occasion of the first death anniversary of Central Amir of MQI Sahibzada Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani. Those present on the occasion were Pir Ghulam Nasir-ud-Din Chishti, Ata-ur-Rehman Durrani, Hafiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, Hazrat-ur-Rehman Durrani, Muhammad Badar Munir Durrani, Matee-ur-Rehman Durrani, GM Malik, Rana Fayyaz, Jawad Hamid, Dr Ghulam Murtaza Alvi, Mir Asif Akbar, Shahzad Rasool, Sohail Raza.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur warned that if the world community did not show responsibility in tackling this matter, it will be difficult to stop the humanity from lapsing into a state of clash among civilizations. He said that blasphemy is not freedom of expression but a violation of the fundamental rights of the 1.5 billion Muslims. He said that love of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) is the central part of the Muslims’ faith. He said that Islam is a religion of peace and the Muslims are the peaceful community, adding that such purported efforts to insult their religion are hurting their sentiments. He said that before the Muslims come to the end of their tether, the powerful countries will have to act and fast.

The MQI Secretary General said that the Muslims cannot stay silent on the publication of blasphemous material against their revered personalities. He said that MQI will observe next Friday (August 24) as ‘Youm-e-Azmat-e-Mustafa (pbuh)’ to denounce those who are enemies of Islam and humanity and global peace. He said that religious scholars will deliver speeches on the subject of ‘Azmat-e-Mustafa (pbuh)’ on the appeal of the MQI and the faithful will reiterate their allegiance to the Holy Prophet (pbuh) by sending greetings and salutations on him.

Dr Ghulam Murtaza Alvi paid rich tributes to the personality of late Sahibzada Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani. He said that his religious, moral, spiritual and social services will be remembered for long time. He said that he was a pious, noble and dignified person who had immense love for the Holy Prophet (pbuh). He said that Sahibzada sahib was among the early companions of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri and his services for MQI deserve to be written in golden letters. Dua was made for the departed soul on the occasion.
