Those serving humanity are great people: Cricketer Abdul Qadir Hassan
Former Test Cricketer Abdul Qadir has said that the blessed are those people who make contributions for the service of humanity and moral and spiritual training of the succeeding generations. He said that the Quranic Encyclopedia is a huge service of the Islamic world.
Abdul Qadir made these remarks while addressing a ceremony held by MQI PP 147 to launch the Quranic Encyclopedia in a local hotel. MQI Lahore head Hafiz Ghulam Farid presided over the event, whereas those present on the occasion included Babar Bin Dilawar, Allama Ahsan Owais, Pir Qamar-ud-Din Gilani, Haji Saghir Ahmad, Haji Ghulam Ghous and others.
President PP 147 Sayyid Javed Mustafa, Muqarrab Yasin, Afraz Ahmad Butt and other leaders welcomed the honorable guests and gifted the copies of the Quranic Encyclopedia.
Abdul Qadir said that the Encyclopedia compiled by Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri is a source of guidance for the Muslim world. He said that of the targets that Dr Qadri fixed as part of his revivalist movement was recourse to the Holy Quran and it is for this reason that he named his movement as Minhaj-ul-Quran, which means the path of Quran. He said that Dr Qadri has opened the door of understanding of the Holy Quran on the students and religious scholars through the compilation of the Encyclopedia. It provides comprehensive guidance to humanity. He congratulated Dr Qadri on the publication of the Quranic Encyclopedia.
Hafiz Ghulam Farid said in his speech that more than 100 launching ceremonies of the Encyclopedia have taken place so far. He said that the Holy Quran is the best source of intellectual guidance. It will help the youth inculcate the urge of learning about religious teachings. He said that the role that the MQI is playing in spreading the Quranic teachings is need of the hour. He said that a heavy responsibility is on the shoulders of the religious scholars to persuade the youth towards the teachings of the Quran and arrange for their spiritual and moral training.
Allama Ahsan Owais made prayer for the national safety, peace and security at the end of the ceremony. He urged the audience to make sure that they study the Quranic Encyclopedia and understand its message.
