Reference held in memory of late Anwar Akhtar Advocate

A reference was held at the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) in memory of late Anwar Akhtar Advocate, former secretary general of the party as well as senior lawyer of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri joined the memorial reference via video link. In his speech on the occasion, he said that Anwar Akhtar Advocate was a senior lawyer, a patriotic Pakistan, an asset of PAT and his trusted companion. He said that their companionship dated back to four decades. He said that Anwar Akhtar had dedicated his life to the service of the people and the ideals of the MQI. He said that he was a knowledge-friendly person who would never say a thing without proper investigation and research. He said that the whole MQI family would continue to miss his absence. He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.

President MQI Prof Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri paid rich tributes to late Anwar Akhtar Advocate. In his remarks, he said that MQI had been deprived of a sincere and committed leader in his death. He said that those who knew Anwar Akhtar are deeply grieved over the passing. He said that he continued to serve MQI for 40 years and it was because of his selfless and dedicated service that he became the secretary general of the party. He said that he had heart of a Sufi with a smiling face. He said that the MQI family shares the grief of the bereaved family and stands by them at this hour of sorrow.

Reference held in memory of late Anwar Akhtar Advocate

Addressing the sons of Anwar Akhtar Advocate, Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that they should consider MQI their home and whenever they feel the need for any guidance, they should knock at the doors of MQI. He asked them to stay connected to the mission.

While speaking on the occasion, PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that Anwar Akhtar Advocate had immense love and respect for Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. He said he was life member of MQI. He said that he left no stone unturned to get justice for the martyrs of Model Town tragedy and did not let anything come in the way. He said that the void left by his mother would never be filled.

The memorial reference was addressed by Naeem-ud-Din Chaudhry Advocate, Lehrasib Khan Gondal Advocate, Nazeer Ahmad Khan Advocate, Ch Arshad Bajwa Advocate, Chaudhry Khadim Hussain Advocate, Hafeez-ur-Rehman Ch Advocate, Sardar Akbar Dogar Advocate, Umar Hayat Sandhu Advocate, Syed Muhammad Shah Advocate, Qazi Faiz-ul-Islam, Ishtiaq Ch Advocate, Ch Pervez Iqbal Advocate, Ch Khadim Hussain Qaiser Advocate, Imtiaz Ch Advocate, and Ch Rafeeq Advocate.

Nasir Iqbal Advocate, GM Malik, Engineer Rafique Najam, Raja Zahid Mahmood, Jawwad Hamid, Noorullah Siddiqui, Prof Saleem Ch, Sardar Umar Daraz Khan, Rana Waheed Shahzad, Sheikh Farhan Aziz and the sons of Anwar Akhtar Advocate attended the reference.
