Daily Times: ‘Revolution’ has turned into ‘national awakening’: Qadri
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri said on Tuesday that his “revolution” has turned into national awakening as the ongoing struggle led by him is exposing the corruption. “Millions of people across the country have awakened now and everybody is humming ‘go Nawaz go’. He said soon this ‘go Nawaz go’ would be heard inside the Parliament, while a time would come that the PM Nawaz Sharif and Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif would also be chanting the same. He said the Inqilab March gave courage to the nation and the people were standing up for their rights. “He would turn away from here after driving the rulers out of the power corridors,” Qadri vowed. Addressing to his workers, PAT chief presented a model of decentralization of the country and devolution of powers, in order to provide all the basic rights to the people as a result of his proposed revolution in state. He elaborated bit-by-bit details to the participants that how the local governments would be formed in rural and urban areas and the issues of the people would be resolved in their own villages and towns. “The natives will be having magistrates, doctors and other officials in their own areas and they will not have to travel to distant places,” Qadri said.
PAT chief said ‘Go Nawaz Go’ movement has been launched everywhere in the country and revolution has become a movement of national awakening. He said days for the so-called Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif are very much limited. He said he wanted to change the structure of government with the power of revolution. He said that rulers have become richer while poor have become poorer. Dr. Qadri announced that children participating sit in would march on the Parliament House. “Existing system which rulers call democracy was actually a practice of looting,” Qadri lamented. He accused that all ‘corrupt leaders’ were united in the Parliament to protect unlawful activities of each other. Lashing out at the incumbent premier, Dr Qadri the ‘so-called’ prime minister could not dare to meet the flood-affected people during his recent visits, fearing a backlash from victims. He said that Prime Minister met his own political workers in a flood-hit area and returned to Islamabad. Dr Qadri said the rulers do business through capital of nation and banks, pushing the poor towards more poverty. He said the PM plundered the national wealth in 1990s was more than Rs 10 billion. He asked his supporters to keep chanting ‘Go Nawaz Go’ in response to each anti-people steps taken by the government such as raise in electricity bills, etc.
