USA: Quaid Day celebration held at MQI Community Center, Dallas

On Feb 19, the Quaid day was celebrated in the illuminated auditorium of Jame’ Hasan al Basri and Minhaj-ul-Quran Community Center, Dallas. All 50 Sunday school students from all levels, along with volunteers, teachers, parents, and community members, held the cake cutting ceremony for Shaykh-ul-slam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri's 67th blessed birthday.

The program began with Sunday school students entering the hall, reciting Durood and salaam on the Holy Prophetﷺ.. As the cake was cut, the students recited nasheeds and continued to recite Durood. Sunday school administrator informed students regarding the birthday celebration of Shaykh-ul-Islam globally. The students were involved in the interactive question and answer session regarding the scholarly work of Shaykh-ul-Islam and his services to religion.

The cake cutting ceremony was followed by an inspiring talk by Imam Zia, who described that celebrating the birth of a scholar is, in essence, celebrating his life and work for the Din. Furthermore, he quoted hadith from Sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim: ‘Abdullah b. ‘Amr b. al-‘As reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:

“Verily, Allah does not take away knowledge by snatching it from the people, but He takes away knowledge by taking away the scholars, so that when He leaves no learned person, people turn to the ignorant as their leaders; then they are asked to deliver religious verdicts, and they deliver them without knowledge, they go astray, and lead others astray.”

The program concluded with dua for the longevity of life of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri followed by Dhuhr prayer. The participants received cake and sandwiches at the end of the ceremony.
