Celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) in Nelson, UK

By the Grace of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’la the celebration of eid Milad un-Nabi (SAW) was carried out in the form of  milad fm (radio), mehfils and a procession was carried out.

A procession was carried out throughout the town to celebrate the special occasion of eid milad un-Nabi (SAW). People gathered at jamia masjid Minhaj-ul-Qur’an and then started the procession from Ghosia jamia masjid in Nelson. It was truly a joyous occasion for everyone!

Sisters organized a programme in which there was an excellent attendance by both the young and older women. The mehfil commenced with recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by Qaseeda Burdah Shareef (poem of the Scarf) recited by the youth group.  Nasheeds were also recited by the elder women and youth. Sister Kauthar delivered a speech in English explaining the importance of celebrating the birth of our Beloved Prophet Sallallahu alaihi wa alihi wa salim.  Sister Rukhsana Alam and sister Saima Saidi delivered speeches in urdu about the celebration of Milad-un-Nabi Sallallahu alaihi wa alihi wa salim, focusing on the history of mawlid  and how we should continue to celebrate it, they also related some miracles  which took place at the time of the birth of the Holy Prophet Sallallahu alaihi wa alihi wa salim.

A stall was also held for sisters to buy books, video and audio cassettes of his Sheykh-ul-Islam   Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.

The program was also being broadcast live on radio milad fm, which is broadcast 24 hours 7 days a week throughout the month of Rabbi al-awwal. Sisters also participate in programs for ladies and young sisters on the radio.

Sisters broadcast live during the week for elder women in the community, in which they can recite naat-e-Rasool or nasheeds or make requests and give any comments related to the program.  

Sisters from the youth league also participate in broadcasting for the community.  Students of Minhaj-ul-Qur’an also take part in recitation of the Holy Qur’an, Nasheeds deliver  urdu and English speeches.

Children are given the opportunity to ring in and read naat-e-Rasool or nasheeds live on the radio.

Special thanks go to all organizers of the procession and the programs held for the celebration of Milad un-Nabi(SAW). Even greater thanks to all those people who have made it possible to broadcast milad fm throughout the blessed month of Rabbi al-awwal!  May Allah Subhana wa Ta’la reward all those who took part in the events for milad un-Nabi (SAW) and give them success in this life and the hereafter.
