Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the founder and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has extended heartfelt congratulations to millions of pilgrims performing Hajj and visiting the Two Holy Mosques. He stated that Hajj is a magnificent journey of intellectual, spiritual, and moral purification. It is not merely a collection of outward rituals, but a practical manifestation of the highest ideals of monotheism, servitude to Allah, and humanity.
He said that Hajj is obligatory upon every financially and physically capable Muslim who has the means to undertake this sacred duty. For those traveling to the Holy Mosques, this journey is an extraordinary blessing and a tremendous favor from Allah Almighty, because Hajj reconnects a person with their true essence — servitude and submission to Allah.
Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri further stated that 'Ihram' brings a person to a state where individuality, arrogance, and worldly identity are left behind, and one enters solely in the attire of devotion and servitude. Ihram, in essence, negates class conflict, pride, and social divisions, where rich and poor, powerful and weak stand together in the same rows, demonstrating equality, brotherhood, and human unity in practice.
He added that Hajj is a comprehensive global training system that instills collective discipline, organization, sacrifice, equality, and moral consciousness in human beings. He further said that the 'Tawaf' of the Kaaba symbolizes the reality that the true center of human life is Allah Almighty, and unless a person correctly defines the center of their life, their intellectual and practical direction remains scattered and unfocused.
He said that the Sa‘i between Safa and Marwah teaches hope, striving, and continuous effort. This act conveys the message of faith, hard work, and complete trust in Allah Almighty, while awakening the awareness that success is linked to persistent effort and positive hope.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that Wuquf at Arafat is the greatest stage of Hajj, which develops intellectual awakening, self-accountability, repentance, humility, and a sense of collective responsibility within a person.
He prayed that Allah Almighty may make Hajj a source of unity, peace, reform, and spiritual awakening for the Muslim Ummah, and may He grant acceptance to the worship and prayers of all pilgrims.
