High level Norwegian delegation visits MQI Secretariat

A five member delegation of religious leaders of Norway, headed by Pastor Trygve Brekke,the head of International Relations, and other members, Reidun Kristoffersen, Barbro Brekke, Arnold Kristoffersen, and Arve Odegard visited Main Secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International on 28th November, 2011 at 11.30 am. The delegation was accompanied by Dr Marqus Fida (chairman of International Gospel Mission), Mr. Suleman Amant, Mr. Javed Akhtar and Mr. Nadeem Sadiq.

Members of the delegation were received by Mr.G.M. Malik, Coordinator Muslim Christian Dialogue Forum (MCDF), Dr. Marqus Fida, chairman Universal peace & Harmony Interfaith Forum, Dr. Trugve Brekke, Norway, Arnold Kristoffersen, Norway, Reidun Kristoffesen, Norway, Arve Odegard, Norway, Raja Jamil Ajmal, Director Foreign Affairs MQI, Hafiz Ghulam Farid, Deputy Director Interfaith Relations, Mr.Muhammad Jawad Hamid (Director of Events Management).

Talking to the delegation, Mr. Miskeen Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, Amir-e-Tehreek MQI, Dr.Raheeq Ahmed Abbasi, Secretary General Minhaj-ul-Quran International, and Shaikh Zahid Fiyyaz, Deputy Secretary General Minhaj-ul-Quran International told about the services of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and Minhaj ul Quran International for peace, love, tolerance and interfaith harmony,

Dr.Raheeq Ahmed Abbasi, Secretary General Minhaj-ul-Quran International said, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, is striving for integration among the communities, bringing civilizations closer and working for eliminating extremism and terrorism through promotion of tolerance and moderation.

Dr.Raheeq Ahmed Abbasi said Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri extensively striving for the establishment of world peace. For this objective ‘Peace for Humanity’ Conference was held in historic Wembley Arena under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International UK on September 24, 2011.

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri presided over the Conference, which was also attended by human rights and peace activists, religious scholars, opinion leaders and key leaders and followers of Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Sikhism and Buddhism.

On the occasion Dr.Raheeq Ahmed Abbasi presented the CDs of that conference and the books of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri to the delegation members.

The Delegation appreciate the efforts of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri And granted the “Peace Award” for Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, which was received by Mr.Miskeen Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, Dr.Raheeq Ahmed Abbasi and Mr GM Malik Coordinator Muslim Christian Dialogue Forum (MCDF) conducted the visit of the delegation to the Secretariat and briefed about the Minhaj ul Quran work in Norway.
