Revolution not limited to electoral laws: Qadri

LAHORE: PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on Wednesday said his proposed revolution was neither Tsunami nor confined to merely changing the electoral laws.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had accumulated so much illegal wealth that he could purchase five more new election commissions constituted after changing the existing electoral laws, he said while addressing a press conference at the party secretariat.

Qadri said the planned revolution would change the entire system, including the electoral and all other existing laws, which allowed corruption and prevented common men from reaching assemblies, thus depriving the poor of their right to rule.

To a question, he said the PTI had not invited his party so far to participate in its long march towards Islamabad. He said there were chances that the tsunami and his revolution could join hands, and if that happened, the great aim would be achieved soon.

Qadri said retreating from revolution would be equivalent to cheating with the blood of PAT martyrs and he would never shun the struggle at any cost. He said the revolution was bound to come, as he asked people to be ready for his call any time in near future. He said his revolution was to change the fate of 200 million people.

Qadri said the tribunal on Model Town tragedy was fraud, meaningless and a joke with the blood of martyrs and justice, adding that it should have ordered the chief minister to resign for planning the killings and to register FIR against him.

He said the tribunal registrar was removed for summoning the mobile phone records, adding it was not empowered to identify those behind the tragedy. None of the government officials - including the IGP, home secretary and others - in the chain of command were not removed from their posts, he added.

He said incumbent rulers had failed miserably in saving the lives and property of people, as they left the citizens at the mercy of killers and extortionists.Qadri said consultation was under way for the revolution and 5,000 to 8,000 workers and office bearers of PAT were being consulted daily.

He said tyranny, injustice and unemployment were on their height and the rulers had lost right to rule. He said everyone would be accountable after the revolution. The PAT chief also condemned the Israeli terrorism in Palestine and militant caliphate in Iraq.
