Aims and Objectives of Minhaj-ul-Quran International

Compiled by Manchester Muslim Youth League - Sisters Section

1. Reviving our relation with Allah (SWT)

The feeling of true obedience & love towards our creator and cherisher are fundamentally required for a human being to gain closeness to Allah (SWT) and thus be guided on the right path. Today this close connection is fast dimishing from our hearts due to our attachment and affection with this fleeting world. Minhaj-UI-Quran wants to re-establish and protect this relationship by taking Allah (SWT) as our point of reference.

The areas and the Minhaj (methodology) of strengthening our link with Almighty Allah (SWT) have been identified as :

Ø                  Remembrance (Zikr)

Ø                  Love

Ø                  Obedience

Ø                  Worship

Ø                  Fear & Hope

Ø                  Remembrance (Zikr)

"O you who believe! Let not your riches Or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. If any act thus, Surely they are the losers."

(Al-Qur’an, 63:9)

"Remember Me and I will remember you "

(Al-Quran)

Ø         Love

"And follow the way of those who turn to Me (Allah) with love."

(Al-Qur’an 31:15)

Ø         Obedience

"O you who believe obey Allah, and obey the Messenger."

(Al-Qur’an 4:59)

Ø         Worship

"Your (real) friends are (no less than) Allah. His Messenger and the (fellowship of) the believers."

(Al-Qur’an, 5:55)

"As for those who turn (for friendship or relation) to Allah and His Messenger and the (fellowship of) believers. It is the party of Allah that must certainly triumph."

(Al-Qur’an 5:56)

Anas bin Malik (ra) narrated that the Prophet (SAW) mentioned three things which, when they are present in anyone, will cause him to taste the sweetness of faith and one of those was:

"... That Allah and His Messenger be dearer to him than all else that he should love others for the sake of Allah alone..."

(Bukhari and Muslim)

2. Restoration of our relation with the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW):

The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) exemplifies this ever nearness to Allah (SWT). He is the crown of creation, whose standards are divinely inspired and must be taken as the ultimate ideal. The path of righteousness leads only through him. The areas and the Minhaj (methodology) of strengthening our link with the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW)have been identified as :

Ø                  Love & Reverance

Ø                  Recognising the True Status

Ø                  Honour & Reverance

Ø                  Obedience

Ø                  Helping & Supporting His cause

"He who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah"

(Al-Qur’an 3 :19)

Abu Huraira narrated the Messenger of Allah said:

"Whoever obeys me has obeyed Allah, and whoever disobeys me has disobeyed Allah. Whoever obeys the commander, has obeyed me, and whoever disobeys him, has disobeyed me."

(Bukhari and Muslim)

"Say 'If you love Allah then follow the Messenger and Allah will love you."

(Al-Qur’an 3:31)

Anas (ra) narrated the Messenger of Allah said:

"Not one of you believes until I am dearer to him than his father, his child, and all mankind."

(Bukhari and Muslim)

3.Return to the Qur’an as ‘The Criterion’.

The Qur'an is the fountain head of knowledge and wisdom. It provides remedies for all individual and social maladies. Unfortunately the Muslim Ummah today is far from its teachings. Minhaj- ul-Qur'an has launched a program to inculcate the Quranic teachings to empower the believers for success in both worlds.  The areas and the Minhaj (methodology) of strengthening our link with the Holy Quran have been identified as:

Ø                  Love for the Holy Quran

Ø                  Regular Recitation

Ø                  Reflection & Meditation

Ø                  Implementation of what you read

Ø                  Propagating the Message of the Holy Quran

"And this is a book which we revealed as a blessing so follow it and be righteous that you may receive mercy."

(Al-Qur’an 6:155)

"Had we sent down this Qur'an on a mountain verily you would have seen it humble itself and cleave asunder for the fear of Allah such are the similitude's to men that they may reflect."

(Al-Qur’an 59:21)

Uthman ibn Affan (ra) narrated the Messenger of Allah said:

"Hold fast constantly to this Qur'an, for by him Whose hand lies the soul of Muhammad, it escapes from one more easily then does a camel from its hobbling cord.

(Bukhari and Muslim)

4. Helping to unite the Muslim Ummah:

The Movement gives prime attention to the unity of the Ummah on basis of absolute loyalty and reverence to the Holy Prophet (saw).  It seeks to promote our identity as Muslims first and foremost rather than any other tide. Minhaj ul Qur'an has a defined strategy to unite the Ummah from the local to the global level. The movement calls for a single global platform for Muslims to create real solidarity. It has presented a 12 point formula to unite the Ummah from a local to the global level.

The areas and the Minhaj (methodology) of Uniting the Muslim Ummah have been identified as:

Ø                  Link with the Holy Prophet (SAW) as the Foundation for Unity

Ø                  Raising the identity of the Muslim Ummah

Ø                  Safeguard against Internal/External attacks

Ø                  Safeguard the collective interest of the Ummah

Ø                  Revival of the World Wide Islamic'Da'wa

"And hold fast, all together by the Rope of Allah and do not be separated (i.e.) disunited)."

(Al-Qur’an  3:3)

Ibn Shurayh narrated the Messenger of Allah said:

"After l am gone, there will be days of corruption and turmoil when you see people damaging the unity of the community of Muhammad (SA W), you must fight them, whoever they may happen to be."

(Muslim)

5. Restoring the Islamic Way of Life Globally

Minhaj-ul-Qur'an aims to eliminate the rift between the sacred and profane dimensions of life. It aims to rebuild human character through moral, spiritual and educational renewal, and give rise to ideological, scientific and economic revival with the establishment of an Islamic state. "

Due to the alienation of Muslims from the path and message of Allah, a strange and unnecessary rift has occurred between the practical and spiritual dimensions of life.

The areas and the Minhaj (methodology) of strengthening our link with Almighty Allah (SWT) have been identified as :

Ø                  Intellectual

Ø                  Spiritual

Ø                  Social & Economic

Ø                  Educational

Ø                  Political

"This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed, my favour upon you and have chosen for you Islam as your way of life (i.e. religion)."

(Al-Qur’an 9:3)

"Those who believe, and suffer exile and strive with might and main, in Allah's cause, with their goods and their persons, have the highest rank in the sight of Allah: They are the people who will achieve (salvation)."

(Al-Qur’an 9:20)

"And those who strive hard in Our (cause) We will certainly guide them to our paths for verily Allah is with those who do right."

(Al-Qur’an 29:69)

"That you believe in Allah and His Messenger and that you strive (your utmost) in the cause of Allah, with your property and your persons: that will be the best for you, if you but knew!"

(Al-Qur’an 61:11)

The great philosopher and thinker of the subcontinent Allama Dr Muhammad Iqbal said in his poetry ‘’Jis main na ho inqilaab mout hay wo zindagi" -The one there is no revolution in, dead is that life.
