Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri struggling to make Pakistan country of Iqbal’s dream: PAT

A high-powered PAT and MQI delegation led by Khurram Nawaz Gandapur visited the Mazar-e-Iqbal on the occasion of 139th birthday of poet-philosopher Allama Dr Muhammad Iqbal. They laid the floral wreath at the mazar on behalf of PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and offered Fateha.

Speaking on the occasion, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that the thought and teachings of the sage of the East was addressed to a self-respecting and brave nation. He said that Allama Iqbal wanted Pakistan to play its role as an honorable nation in the comity of nations. He said that the Allama was a scholar and intellectual of the highest order who taught the youth about importance of knowledge, piety, and courage. GM Malik, Sajid Bhatti, Sohail Raza, Jawad Hamid, Noorullah Saddiqi, Syed Amjad Ali Shah, Mazhar Alvi and Sanaullah Khan were also present on the occasion.

The PAT Secretary General said that Mian Nawaz Sharif calls himself a Muslim Leaguer and considers Allama Iqbal as his hero but his conduct and policies have been reminiscent of the days of the Nazis. He said that while Allama Iqbal talked about economic freedom, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has got every child of the country indebted to the tune of Rs. 120,000. He said that after independence, Pakistan has been left at the mercy of the IMF and the World Bank.

He said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has raised the slogan of revolution to make Pakistan the country of Allama Iqbal and the Quaid-e-Azam’s ideals. He said that we would not rest till we achieve our destination and replace darkness with light
