Mass marriage ceremony to be held on March 19

Mass marriage ceremony under Minhaj Welfare Foundation will be held on March 19, 2017 in which 23 couples will tie the knot. 15 administrative committees have been set up for the purpose of arrangements. Under the special instructions of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri, hundreds of girls have been married off in dozens of mass marriage ceremonies to date.

These views were expressed by Syed Amjad Ali Shah, Director of MWF while addressing a meeting to discuss the arrangements. He said that the daughters of the poor parents become old due to their inability to manage dower. He said that MQI has attended to this social problem at the district level and so far dozens of collective marriage ceremonies have been held. He said that central mass marriage ceremony is held at Lahore in which each bride is given household stuff of Rs. 1.5 lacs each. Besides this, 60 guests of each marriage are accommodated in the marriage feast.

Syed Amjad Ali Shah said that two non-Muslim couples will also be part of mass marriage ceremony on March 19 and in order to perform their marriage rituals, their religious leaders will also be present. The ceremony will be attended by people from all walks of life.
