Disqualification verdict a whiff of fresh air on Independence Day: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

Addressing the Azadi Convention held at the central secretariat of PAT to marking the 70th Independence Day celebrations, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the time has come to rid the Quaid-i-Azam's Pakistan of the remainder of the corrupt elements. He said that those announcing to change the Constitution have been bulldozing every Article of the Constitution for last 35 years for their own benefit. He said that the ruling elite has unmasked their faces through GT Road rally, adding that the boycott of the rally by the people is an endorsement of the Supreme Court's verdict. He said that he who is making a noise over banishment from power should tell the nation as to how he reached the positions of provincial finance minister and the prime minister of the country.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the corrupt elite has created a huge imbalance and distortion in the balance of power in the country. He asked what kind of civilian supremacy it is that the former PM is not able to trust anyone else other than his family member. He said that the country is being looted with both hands in the Sharif kingdom. He said that those who said that Pakistan is progressing by leaps and bounds under their rule are now saying after the July 28 verdict that 80 per cent of Pakistanis do not have homes to live and that smaller provinces suffer from deprivation. He asked them to tell the nation as to who they are hold responsible at a time when they are ruling the country.

The PAT Chairman said that duration of load-shedding has increased after July 28. He said that if the ex-PM has reduced power outages significantly, why are people suffering the hardships caused by massive outages? He said that records of telling lies and misstatements have been set up from the court to parliament to GT Road.

Chairman Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Ch. Afzal Gujar, Hafiz Ghulam Farid, Ishtiaq Hanif Mughal, Farrukh Khan, Younis Noshahi, Imdad Hussain Shah, Umar Awan, Farah Naz, Amna Batool and other leaders attended the Azadi Convention.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the disqualification verdict is a whiff of fresh air on Independence Day, stating that InshAllah, the nation will now have many of such good news in weeks and months to come. He said that the perpetrators of Model Town tragedy will meet their end now. He said that the daughters of the martyrs are demanding justice from the honorable judiciary. He demanded that the identity of those responsible for Model Town massacre should be exposed by publishing the Najfi Commission report. He said that the PAT has rendered sacrifices in man and material in its fight against exploitative system, and concluded by saying that it does not look suitable if the killers talk about the revolution.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri congratulated the people of Pakistan including oversees Pakistanis on the 70th Independence Day of the country.
