‘Get Together’ event held in Arboretum Park

Minhaj-ul-Quran International (Walsall) and Methodist churches from Pleck & Bentley organised a ‘get-together’ event at Arboretum Park on Wednesday on the 16th of August 2017. The members of the local community participated along with people of both faiths.

The participants introduced themselves to each other and discussed current affairs as well as their faith. Food was shared among the people. The turnout was great and the people enjoyed themselves trying to build a relationship whilst creating a sense of understanding, mutual respect and tolerance.

The event was a second event following a ‘Get Together’ in a coffee shop. Future planning includes members from both faiths to visit their faith buildings to learn more about each other.

Allama Ali Akbar said that, ‘these ‘Get Together’ events have started with informal meeting which will develop into formal meetings including visits to each other’s places of worship. The core aim of these events is make the community connected.’
