Quaid Day ceremony held at COSIS

The Quaid Day ceremonies marking the 69th birthday celebrations of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri continue under the banner of Bazm-e-Minhaj, COSIS. A quiz competition between the male and female students by the name of 'Shaykh-ul-Islam Quiz' was held on February 18, which was presided over by MQI President Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri. The students were asked questions on the services and contributions of Shaykh-ul-Islam and his life. Senior PPP leader Barrister Amir Hassan was the chief guest of the quiz competition, whereas Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Brig. (r ) Iqbal Ahmad Khan, COSIS Principal Dr Mumtaz-ul-Hassan Barvi, Prof Muhammad Nawaz Zafar, Mufti Abdul Qayyum Khan Hazarvi, Noorullah Siddiqui, Jawad Hamid, Shahzad Rasool Qadri, and teachers of the College attended the event.

Teams of Minhaj University Lahore, COSIS, Minhaj College for Women, and Aghosh Grammar School took part in the quiz competition. The first position was bagged by the students of Aghosh Grammar School, whereas Minhaj College for Women and COSIS were second and third.

Speaking to the audience, Barrister Amir Hassan said that Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed was the life member of MQI and a great admirer of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. He said knowledge opens the doors of awareness and consciousness, stating that MQI is playing an appreciable role in the promotion of knowledge. He said Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri is a leading scholarly figure of the contemporary age.

Barrister Amir Hassan, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Noorullah Siddiqui, Dr Mumtaz-ul-Hassan Barvi, Mufti Abdul Qayyum Hazarvi, Prof Muhammad Nawaz Zafar, Sabir Naqshbandi, Prof Mumtaz Sadeedi, Jawad Hamid, Shahzad Rasool, Haji Ishaq, Latif Mandi, and other guests gave away certificates and shields to the position holders and the guests.

The birthday cake was cut at the conclusion of the ceremony followed by Dua for good health and life life of Shaykh-ul-Islam.
