Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri makes Dua for protection from the Covid-19
Making a special Dua for protection from the Coronavirus epidemic, MQI founding leader Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said prayer prevents the wrath of Allah Almighty and one can get rid of afflictions through charity and alms-giving. He said humanity is in great distress at the moment, adding that hoarders should not bring destruction on themselves by hoarding stuff. He said coronavirus has two aspects: medical and spiritual. He said the global nature of the pandemic represents the displeasure of Allah Almighty. He asked the Muslim community to win the pleasure of Allah by making themselves regular in prayers. He said the bad deeds should be shunned and good deeds should be adopted instead. He advised the youth to read the Holy Quran along with the translation.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said calamities occur due to misdeeds and one way of getting rid of them is to prostrate oneself before Allah. He said every believer should make a vow to shun obscenity, immorality, fraud, and deception. He said when Muslims as a community seek forgiveness of Allah and vow not to commit sins in the future, Allah would start showering His mercy on them.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said it has been stated in Surah Yousaf of the Holy Quran that Pharaoh committed an extreme amount of oppression on Bani Israel. He demolished all the places of worship and unleashed a reign of terror and violence. Allah Almighty sent a revelation on Hazrat Musa (AS) to tell the people of his Umma to convert their homes into worship places and offer their prayers from there and seek forgiveness of Allah with patience (In other words, one can get rid of the afflictions and calamities during tough times by offering prayers. This way Allah is pleased).
Dr Qadri further said humanity has the doors of life shut on them, it is incumbent on the well-to-do and resourceful sections of society to spend out of their wealth on the well-being of suffering people. Those who resort to hoarding and profiteering in such circumstances actually invite wrath and torment of Allah. He further said that a large number of people including the youth are not able to attend their offices, schools, and colleges these days due to the Covid-19 threat. He said the people should use this time of no work to win the pleasure of Allah, stating that those who do not offer prayers should adopt this habit and seek forgiveness of Allah through Salah. He said the affluent people should spend their money on the needy and deserving. There can be no better way of helping others except through charity and alms-giving.
