Role of Madaris is central to promotion of national unity: Maj General (r ) Dr Ghulam Qamar

Major Dr Ghulam Qamar visit Nizam ul Madaris Pakistan

Director General Religious Education Major General (r ) Dr Ghulam Qamar visited the central offices of Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan. On his arrival, he was warmly received by deputy chairman Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Brig. (r ) Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Allama Ain-ul-Haq Baghdadi, Dr Mumtaz-ul-Hassan Barvi, Muhammad Farooq Rana, Allama Ishtiaq Chishti, Sajid Bhurhani, and Noorullah Siddiqui. Faisal Sher, Director Registration of Religious Education was also with the DG.

Maj General (r ) Dr Ghulam Qamar visited different departments of Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan including examination branch, E-learning, Minhaj TV, Production House, and Farid-i-Millat Research Center. He was shown documentaries of the educational system including that of Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan on the occasion.

Expressing his remarks on the occasion, DG Religious Education said that the religious seminaries have a great role to play in promoting harmony and unity in the country. He said that the graduates of religious seminaries will be included in the mainstream through the provision of opportunity for vocational and technical education as well as employment in different sectors of the economy. He said that our survival lies in holding on to the message of unity imparted to us by the Holy Quran, adding that it is with the collaboration of religious educational institutions that the objective of creating national harmony, promoting peace, dialogue and unity will be achieved.

In his briefing to the two-member delegation, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan pulled off the feat of revising the 272-year old religious curriculum under the supervision of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and also implemented the new curriculum in the educational institutions falling under Nizam-ul-Madaris system. He said that the new syllabi focuses on the eradication of the scourge of terrorism and extremism, promotes peace and encourages a culture of engagement, harmony and dialogue.

Director Examination Allama Ain-ul-Haq Baghdadi briefed the guests about the major highlights of the examination system. He said that it goes to the credit of Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan that a subject of comparative study of religions has also been included in the syllabi. He said that an IT-based system of examination coupled with a strong monitoring mechanism has been put in place. He said that from the finalization of the question papers to their delivery to the examination centers to the conduct of the exams, all processes have been digitized and are controlled centrally.

During his visit to FMRI, Director General Religious Education Major General (r ) Dr Ghulam Qamar appreciated the Quranic Encyclopedia and the peace curriculum compiled by Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri. He paid tribute to him for his scholarly contribution in promoting the Islamic message of peace, love and brotherhood in the world. He also visited Jamy Shaykh-ul-Islam and liked the quality and the art of construction.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur extended an invitation to DG Religious Education to attend the launch of Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri’s book namely “The Constitution of Madina and the Concept of a Welfare State” to be held at Aiwan-i-Iqbal on January 26, 2024. He told him that the book is being simultaneously published in Urdu, English and Arabic languages.
