Shaykh ul Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri Highlights the Supreme Moral Excellence of the Holy Prophet ﷺ
“Just as there is no speech like the Holy Qur’an, likewise there is no character like the Seerah and morals of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.” — Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

On the 21st night of Ramadan, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri delivered a special address at a spiritual and moral training gathering held at the secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International in Model Town, Lahore.
Speaking on the topic “The Noble Character of the Holy Prophet ﷺ,” Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri stated that the blessed life of the Holy Prophet ﷺ is the greatest practical miracle for humanity, and every aspect of his life teaches the highest standards of morality, character, and service to humanity.
Referring to the historic statement of Khadija bint Khuwaylid, the Mother of the Believers, he said that it represents the earliest authentic testimony in human history regarding the Prophetic character. He explained that her words were not merely meant as consolation, but rather a comprehensive testimony based on her long and close observation of the Prophet’s noble life. According to her, the success of the Holy Prophet ﷺ was assured because of seven moral qualities: maintaining family ties, truthfulness, helping the weak, supporting the needy, hospitality, and assisting those afflicted in the cause of truth.
Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri further stated that the statement of Sayyidah Khadijah (RA) is in fact the first comprehensive introduction to the Prophetic Seerah. If the Seerah is regarded as a book, her statement holds the status of its “Surah al-Fatiha.” Just as the Holy Qur’an begins with Surah Al‑Fatiha, her seven sentences outline the fundamental moral principles of the Prophetic character.
Shaykh-ul-Islam explained that Surah Al-Fatiha guides humanity away from egotism toward servitude, humility, and collective welfare; similarly, the virtues described by Sayyidah Khadijah revolve around serving others and promoting the welfare of society rather than personal gain.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri further emphasized that the life of the Holy Prophet ﷺ itself is a great miracle. Just as the Holy Qur’an challenged mankind to produce even a single chapter like it, the forty-year life of the Prophet ﷺ before the declaration of Prophethood was presented to the people of Makkah as evidence of his truthfulness. He said that even after more than fourteen centuries, no speech comparable to the Qur’an has been produced, nor has the world witnessed a character equal to the Seerah of the Holy Prophet ﷺ.
He explained that Allah Almighty presented the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) character to the world for forty years before the announcement of Prophethood so that when the call to monotheism was proclaimed, people would recognize the truthfulness of the message through the integrity of the one delivering it. According to the beloved Prophet (PBUH), the real strength of a religious message lies not merely in words but in the truthfulness of character.
Addressing the callers to faith, Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri remarked that the tragedy of the present time is that many invite others to religion but fail to present practical proof through their own character and conduct. He said the Qur’an clearly teaches that people should be invited to the path of Allah with wisdom and the best manners. If a preacher’s tone reflects hatred, harshness, or discourtesy, such a message cannot influence hearts. The message of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, he said, was founded upon mercy, love, and noble character, and that is why it conquered hearts.
Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri concluded by stating that both the Holy Qur’an and the Prophetic Seerah are preserved miracles granted by Allah. The Qur’an is preserved in the form of divine words, while the Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ remains preserved in the form of a living model that guides humanity and will continue to serve as a perfect source of guidance until the Day of Judgment.
In the first session of the spiritual and training gathering, Hassan Mohi‑ud‑Din Qadri, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Hussain Mohi‑ud‑Din Qadri, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Secretary-General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Qaiser Rafiq, CEO of Discover Pakistan, Shehzad Mujaddadi, Director of Dar-ul-Ikhlas, Malik Shafqat Abbas, Ghazala Qadri, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League, Fizza Hussain Qadri, along with deputy secretaries-general, central heads of departments and forums, scholars, spiritual leaders, and a large number of men and women attended the event.
