June 17 Marks the 12th Anniversary of the Model Town Martyrs; Call for Justice Renewed
PAT leaders visit the graves of the martyrs and lay floral wreaths
The release of the JIT report will put the process of justice back on track: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur

Secretary General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, accompanied by party leaders, visited the memorial of the Model Town martyrs, laid floral wreaths, and offered prayers for the elevation of their ranks.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur stated that the notification of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), headed by A.D. Khawaja, remains suspended. He noted that lawyers representing both sides have completed their arguments before the court. He appealed to the Lahore High Court to announce its verdict, emphasizing that only an impartial investigation can restore the process of justice and put it back on the right track.
He further stated that on the Day of Judgment, the first case to be heard in the Court of Allah will be that of unjustly shed blood. He reiterated that their struggle for justice would continue and that they would pursue it until their last breath.
Meanwhile, a Qur’an recitation gathering was held at Jamy Shaykh-ul-Islam for the spiritual elevation of the Model Town martyrs. Special prayer ceremonies were also organized in major cities across Pakistan and at Islamic centers abroad, where prayers were offered for the martyrs. Party workers and members of the martyrs’ families participated in these events.
On the occasion of the 12th anniversary, leaders of Minhaj-ul-Quran, including Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Dr. Rafiq Najm, Jawad Hamid, Raja Zahid Mahmood, Iqbal Hussain Bajwa, Brigadier (Retd.) Umar Hayat, Allama Rana Muhammad Idris, Colonel (Retd.) Khalid Javed, Naeemuddin Chaudhry Advocate, Hafiz Ghulam Farid, Sardar Umar Daraz Khan, Engineer Ahmad Akhwan Awan, Sheikh Farhan Aziz, Nazim Ali Rehmat, Tayyab Zia, and Haji Farrukh, visited the graves of Shaheed Umar Siddique, Shaheed Sufi Iqbal, Shaheed Asim Hussain, Shaheed Ghulam Rasool, and Shaheeda Tanzila Amjad.
The leaders laid floral wreaths on the graves and offered prayers for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and eternal peace for their souls.
