Non-allocation of funds for NACTA a gesture of solidarity with terrorists: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

PAT chief Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the resolve of the Army Chief and sacrifices rendered by the armed forces for elimination of terrorism are praise worthy but the Sharif government has expressed its ‘solidarity’ with the terrorists by not allocating even a single rupee for NACTA.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri made these remarks while addressing a consultative meeting of PAT through a video link from abroad. He said that the responsibility of implementing 20-point National Action Plan (NAP) was handed over to National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA), adding that it is shocking for the nation that neither has any restructuring of the organization been carried out nor has any money been allocated to make it functional. He said that the rulers arrange the billions of rupees overnight without forming any committee for metro bus project, asking why it is not possible to do so for elimination of terrorism.

Dr Qadri said that the government’s priorities and polices are gauged by the budgetary allocations but the Sharif government has made it known to the nation that tears shed by the government high-ups on the evening of December 16, 2014 were merely a façade meant to play to the gallery. He said that the rulers should know it better that the biggest problem facing the people of Pakistan is terrorism, and extremism and they want the government to eliminate these scourges and establish law and order in the country. He said that the rulers are in the manifest error that if they think that they would be able to fool the people through ‘part-time’ statements against terrorism. He said that the PAT workers will not hesitate from offering any sacrifice for elimination of terrorism and extremism from the country.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that we will present before the nation curriculum we have assiduously designed for establishment of peace and elimination of terrorism on my arrival to Pakistan. He said that 70% agenda of 20-point National Action Plan is yet incomplete. He said neither have religious seminaries been registered nor have lists of the banned organizations been formulated. He further said that in the same way, no progress seems to have been made with regard to stopping the foreign funding and only the lip service is being paid to the entire issue.

He said that rulers are not merely committing negligence but a national crime in this regard because the matter pertains to securing the future of succeeding generations. He said that dozens of committees have been formed under the National Action Plan to throw dust in the eyes of the masses, which have not even bothered to hold their meetings as yet. He said that the Sharif brothers got the 21st constitutional amendment challenged in the apex court in the same way as they got their people to challenge the legal position of the judicial commission on Model Town tragedy in LHC soon after its formation. He said that had the Sharif brothers taken even 10% of interest in eliminating terrorism and extremism they are taking in launching metro bus projects, the menace of terrorism would have been wiped out by now.
