Promotion of interfaith harmony critical to establishment of sustainable peace: Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri

Quaid Day Program in Minhaj ul Quran Lahore under IFR 2024

On February 16, 2024, Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, the President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, stated that promoting interfaith harmony, dialogue and cooperation is essential for establishing sustainable peace in the world. He emphasized the need for everyone to work together for the betterment and welfare of humanity.

These views were expressed by him during a ceremony organized at the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International in Model Town, Lahore, in connection with the 73rd birthday of the founder and leader of MQI, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.

Various religious leaders from different faiths participated in the ceremony. They congratulated Shaykh-ul-Islam on his 73rd birthday. Director of the Interfaith Relations Department at Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Sohail Ahmed Raza, welcomed the religious leaders to the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw expressed admiration for the efforts of Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri towards interfaith harmony and prayed for his long life.

During the event, speeches were delivered by Reverend Saleem Khokhar, Sardar Kirpa Singh, Leader of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Committee Sardar Bhagat Singh, Chairman of the Pakistan Hindu Temple Committee Shri Krishan Sharma, Central Leader of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Allama Hassan Raza Hamdani, Chairman of All Pakistan Ulema Board Allama Muhammad Asim Makhdoom, Professor Mahmood Ghaznavi, and other leaders, who appreciated the practical efforts of MQI and Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri for opening the doors to dialogue among religious communities.

Raja Zahid Mahmood, Deputy Director-General Media Affairs Noorullah Siddiqui, Shamshad Ahmed Siddiqui, Asim Rafique, Shahzad Khan, Naeem-ud-Din Chaudhry Advocate, Hafeezur Rahman Khan, Ahmed Sadiq, Haji Khaliq, and other leaders also participated in the ceremony.
