Prayer is a Moral Shield: Prof. Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri

Give priority to offering the five daily prayers in congregation over every engagement; pledge to remain steadfast in prayer during the last ten days of Ramadan: Chairman Supreme Council

Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, has said that during this Ashra of Salvation (the last ten days of Ramadan) believers should make a firm commitment to observe their prayers regularly. He stated that consistency in prayer protects a person from sins and opens the doors of guidance.

He said that Allah the Almighty has described worldly life as mere play and amusement, highlighting its temporary and fragile nature. Therefore, one should understand the eternal philosophy and reality presented in the Holy Qur’an and focus on preparing for the life that is everlasting.

He further advised that the youth should make their daily lives pure and purposeful. The process of self-reform should begin with regular observance of prayer. Prayer not only prevents immoral and sinful acts but also brings discipline and order into human life. He noted that in the Holy Qur’an the command to establish prayer has been mentioned not merely a few times but hundreds of times, which reflects its immense importance and virtue. He urged people to observe prayers themselves and also encourage their family members to establish prayer, as it is the path to success and salvation.

He added that observing fasts for one month in the year and giving abundant charity are indeed commendable acts, but they will only be beneficial if a person spends every day of the year in obedience and submission to Allah. Remember, the acts of worship of a person who neglects prayer will not benefit them. To truly call oneself a Muslim and a believer, it is essential to remain steadfast in offering prayers.
