Examiner : Fatwa issued: 'All terrorists will go to hell – no exceptions'

March 12, 11:08 AM

A Fatwa or religious edict has been served on the world-wide Muslim community by Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri, an Islamic scholar, professor, lawyer and leader in the religious community. The intent is to distribute correct information to youth stating that terrorism is forbidden in their holy book.

On March 2, the 600-page Fatwa absolutely condemns all forms of terrorism, including suicide bombings and retaliation murders. There are no exceptions for these acts in the Holy Quran, according to Qadri.

“Terrorism is terrorism and violence is violence and it has no place in Islamic teaching and no justification can be provided for it, or any kind of excuse of ifs or buts,” said Qadri.

Qadri said the youth are being mislead and brainwashed by militant ideologues who misrepresent the religion of Islam. He said there is absolutely no justification for terrorism and those who practice it will go to hell, not to paradise.

During his press conference Qadri moved easily from English to Urdo and gave a historical explanation and laws from the Holy Quran and the Hadiths, which are narrations originating from the words and deeds of the Prophet Mohammad PBUH.

He asked for patience while he spoke both languages to the assembled press. "I know this will be played in Pakistan so I will also speak in their language."

His Fatwa has been originally written in Urdo, the native language in Pakistan where most of the violence and radicalization of youth is taking place, he said. The book will also be translated into English for western peoples.

He has a long and storied academic career in Pakistan and India. He is currently serving as the Executive Officer of the Minhaj International University.

The Fatwa is expected to draw great attention in the Islamic world as it is read and digested by the faithful. The author used authorities in the book given by their earliest religious leaders. It is not a book of opinions, rather a restatement of laws.

Although many Islamic scholars have rejected violence and terrorism, this compilation is by far the most detailed, chapter and verse form explaining the laws and explanations forbidding terrorism and violence in the Holy Quran and the Hadiths.

Quadri also spoke of "end times" signs that are listed in the book, as given by the Holy Quran. He asked the audience if they could draw conclusion from the signs and apply them to modern day events. Some of the signs included people who call themselves Muslims, but do not practice the true faith. These people are described as being radically religious, wear bushy beards and trousers above their knees. He also said these groups would work with the Anti-Christ. He also noted the corruption and rising of the youth in behaviors forbidden by the Holy Quran, such as terrorism and violence. He stated that the book says the trouble will come from the east, and the author was standing in Mecca at the time of the revelations.
