Political will a must to win fight against terrorism : Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that Minhaj-ul-Quran International is engaged in the relentless struggle against terrorism and extremism and it is highlighting the true concept of Islamic teachings the world over. He said that fight against terrorism and extremism cannot be won comprehensively unless its roots are addressed through a sustained and holistic approach. Political will and consensus, he added, is the need of the hour to put up a united front against the forces of doom and gloom.
Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views while talking to senior leaders of MQI at the central secretariat. He said that terrorism emanated from a radicalized mindset, which has been nourished over the years under the influence of pernicious ideology of exclusivity and rejection. “The perverted idea of killing others by invoking self-styled interpretation of religion can be killed by a superior idea of real Islamic teachings. It calls for projection of real teachings of Islam at various levels. MQI is bridging the gap by representing Islam both in the Muslim as well as non-Muslim worlds,” he added. Ahmad Nawaz Anjum, Raja Jamil Ajmal, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Dabbagh and others were present on the occasion.
