Fake sit-in exposes forces of status quo: PAT

Dr Raheeq Abbasi, President of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, has said that a dozen parties could only manage to gather a few hundred people for a sit-in in front of the Parliament, which means that the nation has rejected the forces of status quo. He said that the global media showed the ‘spectacle and plight’ of people’s so-called representatives on the roads of Islamabad. He advised the family of political authoritarianism to shun dreaming of coming into power again. He said that the day was not far when the people’s power would sweep them into dustbin of history.

Dr Raheeq Abbasi said that PAT’s historic sit-in on January 14 was a watershed in the political history of the country. He said that PAT set up a political record which would not be broken by the forces of status quo. He said that they should see the writing on the wall which clearly gave them message that the law breakers and tax evaders could not be given the power to legislate and collect taxes respectively. He said that PAT was launching revolution marches in the country, which would prove to be last nail in the coffin of political orphans. He said that sun of people’s power would emerge soon.
