Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri chairs meeting to review progress on Minhaj Education City

Minhaj Education City has been tipped as historic addition to the world of knowledge. The estimate of financial resources has been worked out to be in the neighbourhood of over Rs. 600 million for acquisition of land on which the Education City would be built up. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri urged the workers of MQI from Pakistan and across the world to raise funds for this all-important project during last Itikaf and named the project as Minhaj Development Fund (MDF). All local and overseas chapters were given time up to November 30 to meet targets for Minhaj Development Fund.

A meeting of District teams was held at the Central Secretariat on December 1 to review the outcome of fundraising efforts with Chairman of the Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri in the chair. In addition to Secretary General of MQI Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Allama Muhammad Afzal Saeedi, President of National Executive Council UK, and GM Malik, Director of Directorate of Foreign Affairs were also present on the occasion.

After the Quranic recitation and Naat, special message of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri was shown. Engineer Rafique Najam presented the welcome address and welcomed the leaders of MQI at the central secretariat. The Secretary General of MQI briefed the participants about details of Minhaj Education City and sought their views as well.

Addressing the meeting, Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that Minhaj Education City was a landmark project in the welfare, spiritual and educational services of MQI, which would be instrumental in expanding their scope and reach. He said that Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri announced this mega project during Itikaf 2013. He added that the project would have a facility of Mosque for one hundred thousand participants of Itikaf, Minhaj University, location for two dozen colleges for boys and girls including institutions for general, technical, medical, administrative and Islamic education.

Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri asked the local and overseas chapters of MQI to meet targets of Minhaj Development Fund by December 31, 2013. Haji Muzzumal Abbas of Chakwal presented a cheque of one million rupees to Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri for the project on the occasion.

After the end of meeting, Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri shook hands with all participants individually and enquired after their well-being. Central Coordinator of MDF Bashir Khan Lodhi presented progress reports of different districts and appreciated the efforts of district chapters.
