There is great reward for those who overcome their anger: Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri

Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri addresses Friday gathering in Jamy Shaykh-ul-Islam

Addressing the Friday congregation in Shaykh-ul-Islam Mosque (جامع شیخ الاسلام), Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and Deputy Chairman, Board of Governors of MUL, has said that Islam has given comprehensive guidance to the human beings to deal with the emergent challenges and cure all physical, social and psychological ailment.

Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that the modern psychology is now endorsing the guidelines that Islam has given in respect of the anger management. He said that anger not only destroys personality but also harms social relationships. He said at times one's anger and frustration weakens one's health and is also the reason for our low-level social relationship. He said that man commits such injurious actions in this state of extreme anger that displease Allah Almighty and His Prophet (pbuh). This way all of our good deeds are destroyed, he said.

Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that it is for this reason that Allah Almighty has announced a huge reward for those who contain their anger despite having power. He quoted a Hadith in which the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said that the anger is from Satan, whereas the quality of overcoming the anger comes from Allah Almighty.

President MQI said that Satan is made up of fire, which in turn is extinguished by water. The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) has described a rare recipe to manage and control the anger. He (peace be upon him) said that when one is dominated by anger, one should perform ablution and always think that this anger is basically an attack of Satan and he wants to harm. He said that in such a situation, one should turn one's mind and heart towards Allah Almighty and remember that God will be pleased with man for not reacting strongly to anger.

Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that by controlling our anger, we remain safe from many worldly worries. He said that we get out of control on the basis of information which is either incomplete or biased and look for ways to harm the weak people without authenticating the news. He said that such mindless behavior gives birth to horrible consequences. He said that anger should be considered as an act of the devil and one should employ all the energy and will power to suppress this negative energy. He said that Allah Almighty has given Muslims the title of an Ummah that has moderate attitudes. He said that we should avoid extremes and adopt moderation as a governing principle in our life, stating that our success and the protection of life, property, and honour lies in acting upon this recipe.
