On the blessed occasion of Shab-e-Barat, prayer gatherings, recitations of the Quran, and gatherings of Naat, praising the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) were organized in Pakistan as well as around the world under the auspices of the Minhaj-ul-Quran International.

The central event of Shab-e-Barat under the MQI took place at the Jamia Masjid Rahmaniah in Karachi. Addressing the spiritual gathering, Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Chairman of the MQI Supreme Council, emphasized that this blessed night is granted by Allah Almighty through the mediation of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to seek forgiveness for the sinners. He described Shab-e-Barat as a night of blessings, during which Allah distributes various favors and goodness among the Ummah (Muslim community). He quoted the saying of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) that on this night, Allah forgives His servants except for polytheists and those who hold grudges against their brothers.

Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri stated that Allah equates hatred and malice with polytheism, adding that it, is, therefore, incumbent upon the believers to eliminate hatred, animosity, envy, and foster love, affection, and brotherhood with one another. He said that love and companionship with the righteous are also means of attaining forgiveness and mercy from Allah Almighty. Various scholars and leaders participated in the spiritual gathering.
