Shaykh-ul-Islam asks Ulama to joins hands for revival of spiritual values

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that Minhaj-ul-Quran International was working for the revival of religious, moral and spiritual values in the present age. This international organization was busy spreading the spiritual values in the entire world and purifying the hearts of the Muslims through the propagation of real teachings of Islam. He said that Minhaj-ul-Quran International stood for peace, brotherhood and interfaith dialogue as this was the message of Islam as well.

Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views while delivering a telephonic speech from Canada. He said that the responsibility lay on the shoulders of the Ulama and scholars to sink their individual efforts in the whole of collectivity for the promotion of spiritual values in society and serving the cause of religion. He said that efforts in individual domains could not bear fruits. "One's obsession with worldly love has served to distance one from eternal life—the live of haven—which is unfortunate. Unless one freed oneself from the effects of ill-commanding self, one could not achieve the state of spiritual gnosis," he said.

Shaykh-ul-Islam said that fighting the menace of materialism was the real challenge as the materialistic forces polluted hearts and minds, dampening any desire for reform and purification. Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri urged people to personify the love for the Holy Prophet (SAW) because it was the sovereign remedy to cure all spiritual ills. "This was due to this reason that great Friends of Allah were the great lovers of the Holy Prophet (SAW)," Shaykh-ul-Islam observed.
