On the 31st of December 2017 Minhaj-ul-Quran London ended the year by hosting those in difficult circumstances and homeless at its centre on Romford Road Forest Gate. Over 30 volunteers from not only the mosque but from different parts of the community joined in distributing ‘pilau rice’, drinks and a whole host of food, snacks donated by the mosque, local businesses, volunteers, and well-wishers. Over 35 volunteers from Minhaj-ul-Quran International (London) attended Emmanuel Church in Forest Gate to help their Christian friends hand out food and presents to the homeless. Muslims joined in the carol singing and observed the Christmas service beautifully conducted by Reverend Chigor Chike, Vicar of Emmanuel Church with St Peter.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri extremely grieved and saddened to learn about the sad demise of Khawaja Muhammad Ashraf, my old companion. He has been instrumental in establishing the Rehmania Masjid Trust Minhaj-ul-Quran mosque and learning center on Tariq Road in Karachi. His contributions to MQI in the cause of Islam and religious education will be remembered as a golden chapter of his life. May Allah bless him and grant his soul the most elevated place in Jannat-al-Firdous.
