Archbishop of Lahore Sebastian Francis Shah has awarded Peace Award on Director Interfaith Relations of MQI Sohail Ahmad Raza as a mark of acknowledgement of his contributions and services for promotion of peace. The Award Giving Ceremony was hosted by Dr James Chanan, Director of Peace Centre Lahore. Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs and Human Rights Tahir Khalil Sandhu was the chief guest on the occasion.

Minhaj Welfare Foundation (MWF) first visited the camp on Thursday to assess the needs of the site’s inhabitants, before delivering food and Sunday and making today’s trip. The Newham branch of worldwide Islamic group Minhaj-ul-Qur’an, which runs MWF, has sent 30 volunteers to Calais, bringing food, medical equipment and tents. Minhaj-ul-Qur’an’s community liasion officer, Adnan Sohail, said it was upsetting to see people from Africa, Afghanistan and Syria suffering.

On Wednesday 2nd of September 2015, a beautiful award ceremony was held commemorating the conclusion of the 2015 Summer School organised by Masjid Al Habib under the banner of Minhaj ul Quran International London. Parents watched as their children participated in performing on stage. The children were given the opportunity to recite from the Holy Qur'an, quote Ahadith with the translation, give short talks and perform nashids. The children also took part in a quiz, testing what they learnt during the course of three weeks.
The stage secretaries of the program were Sister Amina Rasheed and Sister Sanam who started the event by inviting Sister Laraib Asghar to commence the program with the recitation of the Irfan-ul-Qur’an. Later, Sister Asifa blessed the ceremony by reciting Naat-e-Rasool Saw. To take the program forward, Minhaj Sister League entertained the audience by singing the national song.

By the grace of Almighty Allah and through the blessing of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), Minhaj-ul-Qur’an International London held the 100th monthly religious and spiritual gathering of Gosha-e-Durood on Saturday 29th August 2015. The event began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an followed by Naat in praise of the Beloved Holy Prophet (PBUH) which was beautifully recited by a young brother from Minhaj Youth Naat Council London which overwhelmed the participants with emotions.
MES Managing Director Prof Abid Yaqoob passes away
On Thursday 27th August 2015 Minhaj-ul-Quran International Women League London visited Daken House Nursing Home in Newham to spend sometime in the company of the elderly as well as patients with mental health problems. The members of the Women League support local causes in the community. This particular project was chosen as it had been recently highlighted that many of the patients at the care homes miss their families and friends at times of festivals like Eid, Christmas, and Diwali etc.
During his two-day stay in Vienna, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri held meetings with office holders and workers of MQI, PAT and other forums. Talking in these meetings, he said that Islam is all about peace, love and compassion. He said that the very name of our faith ‘Islam’ is enough to impress upon us the importance of peace as the word denotes the same. He said that Allah Almighty is the God of the whole universe and the Holy Prophet (SAW) is the Prophet of mercy for all the worlds irrespective of distinction of creed, colour, caste and race.
