LAHORE (DUNYA NEWS) – Pakistan Muslim League Q (PML-Q)’s head Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi called Tahir ul Qadri to condemn the police crackdown on Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers and leaders on Thursday morning, Dunya News reported. Former President Asif Ali Zardari also called Tahir ul Qadri to discuss the prevailing political situation.
LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on Friday labelled the PML-N government “state terrorists” for sealing off roads to his residence in Model Town, Lahore. “Model Town has been transformed into Gaza,” said Qadri, referring to the barricade around the Minhajul Quran secretariat and deployment of heavy contingents of police in Model Town.
LAHORE: Chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Dr Tahir ul Qadri has said that at least one PAT worker was killed, while 6 were injured due to police torture in Bhakkar, ARY News reported. Addressing a press conference here, Dr Tahir ul Qadri said a caravan of 70 buses was ready to move to Lahore for the proceedings of the Day of Martyrs on August 10, Punjab Police intercepted it and forced the PAT workers to return to their homes and not to lead forth.

LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri said on Thursday that the Punjab government sought to turn Yaum-e-Shuhada into Revolution Day through their barbaric measures and brutal crackdown against the party workers across the province. Addressing a press conference outside his residence in today’s wee hours, Dr. Qadri said he had called an emergency meeting of allied parties today at Minhaj-ul-Quran International Secretariat, in view of the current large-scale police crackdown on the PAT activists.
LAHORE: As days for independence march and long march by the opposition parties drawing near, the government machinery stirred into action and launched crackdown on activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and arrested several political workers, ARY News reported Thursday. Punjab police seized numerous motorcycles around the Minhajul Quran secretariat which PAT workers were supposed to use on the day of protest on August 14.
LAHORE/ATTAOCK: In view of potential arrest of Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri, the workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) thronged outside his residence and Minhaj-ul-Quran International Secretariat. Activists declared that they would stand by their leader day in and day out. Receiving the report that heavy police contingent had arrived at Dr. Qadri’s residence, baton-wielding PAT activists rushed to the spot and are currently standing guard outside the residence of Dr. Qadri. The activists are resolute to protect their leader and will not allow him to be arrested.

Accusing the government of nepotism, the PAT chief said that the revolution is essential to get freedom from dynastic politics.

He has also announced to observe Martyrs Day (Youm-e-Shohada) peacefully in Model Town on August 10 to pay tribute to his workers who were killed by police during a raid at the party secretariat on June 17. The Canadian cleric has permitted his workers to attack police officials’ homes if they try to enter their homes, asking the PML-N government to avoid a crackdown of law enforcement agencies on his followers. He noted that since the Pakistan Army was fighting against terrorists he and his party did not want to disturb peace in the country “and wanted to save Punjab from anarchy. “But this should not be considered as our cowardliness,” he asserted.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri announced to observe Martyrs’ Week from August 4 to August 9 throughout the country, adding that Martyrs’ Day would be observed on August 10 in Model Town. He said that everyone coming in to join the central ceremony of Martyrs’ Day should bring the Holy Quran, prayer mat and Tasbeeh with him/her. He gave his personal guarantee that the Martyrs’ Day would be peaceful. He, however, warned that if the Punjab government or police stopped the people coming for Martyrs’ Day, it would then be observed in palaces of Jati Umrah instead of Model Town.
LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on Sunday announced that his party will observe a 'Day of Martyrs' on August 10, to commemorate the lives lost in violent clashes that broke in Lahore's Model Town on June 17. In press conference held outside the Minhajul Quran secretariat, Dr Qadri said that before staging a 'Revolution March' — a date for which has not yet been announced — those responsible for the loss of lives on June 17 must be brought to justice.
“A revolution is coming,” said Qadri, inviting applause from his supporters. Taunting Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the PAT chief asked the PM to pick whether the federal government or the provincial government of Punjab would fall first. Addressing a press conference in Lahore, the PAT leader lashed out at the government for mishandling the Model Town clashes, saying the matter would have been dealt with differently if it happened in the West.
Tahir-ul-Qadri added that the proof was available in the form of telephone call-recordings which will be made public in due time. Addressing a press conference at the Minhaj-ul-Quran Secretariat, Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri said that no one was accepting the responsibility of the Model Town tragedy, how could they accept the responsibility of the murders of democracy and the constitution.
Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that two cases are being simultaneously pursued against the rulers. He said that one case, which is the Lahore case, was about mass killing of 14 civilians and the intention to kill over 90 of them, whereas the second case, which is the Islamabad case, related to political, economic and social murder of 180 million people. He said that Qisas would be taken in response to the first case, whereas the second Islamabad case would be decided through revolution. He said that there would be ‘Chehlum’ of the martyrs on August 10.
