DUBAI: The plane carrying Minhaj-ul-Quran International patron-in-chief Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri has flown from Dubai to land at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, SAMAA reported Monday. Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri is sitting in seat-2C on board EK612. Dr. Qadri is a renowned Pakistani religious scholar who shot to fame after he penned down a 600-page fatwa against terrorism. He is scheduled to return to Pakistan on Monday morning to lead mass protests in order to bring about a peaceful revolution to oust Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
ISLAMABAD: Emirates Airline flight EK-612 carrying Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has landed at the main terminal of Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore on Monday morning after being diverted from Islamabad. According to media reports, Dr Qadri has refused to leave the plane as the authorities took him to Lahore instead of Islamabad.
Police fired tear gas as they clashed with supporters of a Canada-based cleric at Islamabad airport on Monday ahead of his return to lead what he has called an anti-government "revolution". Tahir-ul-Qadri, who drew tens of thousands of supporters to a sit-in protest in Islamabad in January last year, is due to arrive a week after eight people were killed when his followers clashed with police in the eastern city of Lahore.
The City Police have arrested Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Hafizabad Vice President Haji Mukhtar Ahmad and workers Nouman Ahmad, Muhammad Afzal, Mushtaq Ansari, Anwar-ul-Haq and Atif Sultan on the charge of allegedly pelting stone on the police, resulting in injuries to four cops about four days ago. The police had registered cases against 134 PAT activists. More arrests are expected tonight.

Speaking to media here, the PAT chief urged the judiciary to take notice of the government’s action against his party workers. “There is no threat to constitution, democracy and the PML-N government by the campaign”, he told media.

PAT leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that he would rather sacrifice his life but would not budge an inch from his stated goal of revolution. He said that even if the oppressors broke all hell loose on him, he would neither be scared nor forced to yield. He said that the Model Town carnage represented the height of terrorism, savagery and oppression committed by the rulers and extreme amount of patience and restraint exercised by PAT workers.
Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri on Saturday reached London where he is due to catch a flight to Islamabad. He said that hurdles will be laid from the day one, adding that the ‘voice of truth’ cannot be suppressed and that there’s no justification to stop him, Dunya News reported. Addressing media after arriving in London, Qadri said that he is aware that ‘severe hurdles’ will be deployed for him from the day one. He said he will reach Pakistan on June 23 in any case, adding that he is Pakistan national and no one has any justification to stop him.

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) head Dr. Tahir ul Qadri on Wednesday rejected judicial commission set up by the Punjab government to open a probe into deaths of eight people in Lahore yesterday. “I appeal to judge to distance himself from the commission. Those who carried out murders lodged an FIR themselves,” he said while addressing a press conference via video link from Canada.

He said that: “We don’t accept the judicial commission and families of our martyrs don’t need government compensation”. LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan extended support to Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) while speaking to media, Express News reported on Wednesday. Khan said PTI will stand by Dr Tahirul Qadri’s party till they get justice for the eleven killed and several injured as clashes erupted between Qadri’s supporters and police. Khan said extreme measures were taken to scare people from coming out on the roads.
The police attack that took place at the residence of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri and secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International in Lahore on June 17 represents the worst ever example of state terrorism, savagery, violence and barbarism in which live bullets were fired at innocent and unarmed citizens, the unarmed women were killed by firing of live bullets for the first time in the history of Pakistan and the Holy Quran was desecrated. The Model Town tragedy is condemned in the strongest possible words.
