LAHORE - Following Sunday’s announcement by the MQM to support the long march of Dr Tahirul Qadri, the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party on Monday was jolted again when another coalition partner, the PML-Q, also extended its support to Minhajul Quran chief’s reform agenda. Five senior most PML-Q leaders, Ch Shujaat Hussain, Ch Pervaiz Elahi, Mushahid Hussain Syed, Moonis Elahi and Tariq Bashir Cheema went to Model Town residence of Dr Qadri late Monday night only to assure him that their party supported his agenda of electoral reforms.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said journey of revolution will reach on its destination, adding this would be a peaceful march. He said 14th January gathering in Islamabad would be the world’s largest Tehrir square in Islamabad and it would be peaceful. There would be no use of bullet and violence in this march, he added. People gathering in Islamabad will decision on caretakers government in the country, he said.
KARACHI: Deputy convener of MQM’s Rabita Committee Dr. Farooq Sattar said Chairman Tehreek-i-Minhaj-ul-Quran International (TMI) Dr Tahirul Qadri will address a public meeting at the Jinnah Ground, Azizabad, which will witness the largest crowd in its history.

Talking to SAMAA TV at Lahore Airport’s departure lounge, he said Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) wants the abolishment of the outdated and rotting system from the country; this is why, Tahirul Qadri and Altaf Hussain are in unison.
LAHORE: Following Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM), another important government ally, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) expressed support for the January 14 long march being taken out under the aegis of Tehreek-i-Minhaj-ul-Quran International (TMI). A delegation of Q-League led by President PML-Q Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain called on religious leader Allama Dr. Tahirul Qadri at his residence and discussed various issues including long march and fresh political agenda. Talking to media, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said Dr. Qadri’s mission is not opposed to democracy and the Constitution of Pakistan; hence, Muslim League-Q will give its full-fledged support to him.
Chairman Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri on Tuesday said that Islamabad was about to become world’s largest Tehrir Square on January 14, stressing that the revolution will be peaceful. The rally titled “Safar-e-Inqilab-e-Pakistan” was held at Jinnah Ground and was also addressed by MQM chief Altaf Hussain via telephone from London. He said that he had invited all religious and political parties of the country to join the march but only the MQM responded positively. Responding to allegations of being backed by a foreign agenda, the religious leader said that those spreading this propaganda were liars. “My mission is to uphold the Constitution of Pakistan. My mission is to restore Jinnah’s true democracy,” he added.
KARACHI: Religious scholar and Minhaj-ul-Quran International chief, Dr Tahirul Qadri has claimed that the people’s parliament will announce its decision on January 14th, SAMAA reports on Tuesday. Addressing a massive public gathering at Jinnah Ground Azizabad after visiting MQM headquarters ‘90’, Qadri said that journey of ‘practical revolution’ began today. Qadri said that there is going to be a new ‘Tehreer Square’ in Islamabad on Jan 14th. ‘Our agenda is to eliminate feudal system and corruption in the country’, he said his mission is welfare of the people and he has no hidden agenda.
ISLAMABAD, Jan. 14 (Xinhua -- A Pakistani religious leader, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri, leading thousands of his supporters, entered Islamabad late Monday to mount pressure on the government to introduce 'electoral reforms' to stop corrupt elements from taking part in elections, local media reported.
Chairman of Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran Dr Tahirul Qadri has said that to become caretaker prime minister was not in his agenda. Addressing the workers’ convention in Lahore through video facility at more than one thousand places in the country on Sunday, Qadri said he wanted to see real democracy in the country and that he would not accept any post after changing the electoral system in Pakistan.
LAHORE: Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran (TMQ) Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri on Sunday said that the caretaker prime minister would be appointed by the people’s parliament and asked the army to reject the PPP-led coalition government’s orders to stop their Jan 14 march on Islamabad.
KARACHI: MQM chief Altaf Hussain addressed a charged crowd of workers at Nine-Zero late on Sunday night and appealed to them to collect funds to enable the party to participate in Minhaj-ul-Quran’s long march to Islamabad.
Dr Sattar said, “After discussing all aspects in detail the co-ordination committee decided to take active part in the long march being held in Islamabad on January 14 for abolishing the decaying feudal system, eliminating corruption and use of money in politics, restoring the rights of the people belonging to the poor and middle classes in the politics of the country and establishing a just and equitable system in the country. The meeting decided that hundreds of thousands of the MQM workers would take part in the long march along with Minhajul Quran for these noble objectives.”
A delegation of Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran met ANP (Sindh) president Shahi Syed at his residence in Karachi on Monday. During the meeting, the ANP senior leader said that the decision will be taken by the central leadership of the party. The leaders in the delegation said that the invitation of long march scheduled for January 14 has been given to MQM, ANP and other nationalist parties.

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has announced to participate in Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri’s January 14 Long March to Islamabad, SAMAA reports. MQM chief Altaf Hussain has also endorsed the decision of the Co-ordination Committee. A joint meeting of the Co-ordination Committee of MQM was held in London and Pakistan, which discussed in detail the invitation extended by the Tehreek-i-Minhaj-ul-Quran for participating in its Long March being held in Islamabad on 14th January for introducing revolutionary reforms in the electoral system of the country.
LAHORE: The Chairman of Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran, Dr Tahirul Qadri, has said his agenda is restoration of democracy and the Constitution and no force can block the people’s march on Islamabad on January 14. Speaking at a reception for senior journalists on Friday, Qadri, also a former MNA of 2002, said he wanted an interim government under which institutions and parties outside parliament should also be included in the consultation process.
Karachi: London-based chief of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain has said that a revolution in Pakistan was inevitable. He was talking online to a delegation of Minhajul-Quran, who visited MQM’s Karachi headquarters Nine Zero.
LAHORE, Dec 28: Tehrik Minjhajul Quran chief Dr Tahirul Qadri is not a candidate for the general election but will accept the challenge of becoming the caretaker prime minister in case “millions of participants in his long march and the nation force him to do so”.
In his keynote address to the participants, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri categorically stated that he was neither desirous of becoming a caretaker Prime Minister nor felt any such need. He said that Allah Almighty has bestowed more honour on him than enjoyed by either Prime Minister or President. He said that he was not a candidate to become caretaker Prime Minister but added in the same context that he would not allow anyone to sabotage his agenda of electoral reforms.
