Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that Allah Almighty has made the obedience of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as obligatory as His own obedience in absolute terms. He said that remembrance of the Prophet (PBUH) cannot be separated from the remembrance of Allah Almighty and this is the basis of ‘Iman’. He asked the Muslims to adopt the ‘Sunna’ of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in their lives.
New Delhi: The message of peace and moderation sets former Pakistan-based politician, activist and motivational speaker Shaykh-ul-Islam Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri apart from other Islamic scholars. He says Islam stands for love and not the killing of mankind. "I have tried to bring up the true teachings of the Quran so that I may stop the means of distortion of the teachings...the extremists are using religion as a tool to achieve ulterior motives. All people belonging to all religions - their lives and places of worship - should be protected," the author of the popular book "Fatwa on Terrorism", told IANS in an interview.

International Interfaith Council organized a seminar in Islamabad in which different faith and community leaders participated. Sohail Ahmad Raza, Director of Interfaith Relations, represented Minhaj-ul-Quran International in the seminar.
Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League (Lahore chapter) organized a book exhibition on the occasion of the 61st birthday of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. The exhibition continued for two days in the month of February 2012 in art gallery of Aiwan-e-Iqbal in Lahore. A large number of people from across Lahore including students, teachers and members of the minority communities visited the exhibition.

VADODARA: Pakistani Islamic scholar Tahir-ul-Qadri on his first visit to Gujarat thanked Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi for the security arrangements provided to him by the state government. Dr Qadri, known for his strong views against terrorism and extremism, however, refused to comment on 2002 communal riots. Dr Qadri is in Gujarat since Friday night to lay foundation stone of India headquarters of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) in Karjan on Saturday evening. Speaking to mediapersons ahead of the function in Karjan, he said that he did not have personal knowledge of provincial states of India and political leaders of the country.

Qadri, who has been facing threats for his condemnation of terrorism by various outfits in Pakistan, including Taliban, has come here on an invitation by Karjan-based Minhajul Quran International (India), a branch of the UK-based MQI, headed by Qadri himself.

The 61-year-old Pakistani Sufi scholar is the founder of the Minhaj-ul-Quran International, an NGO, which works for the welfare of Muslim youth the world over and particularly in Pakistan. In 2010 he decreed the Fatwa on terrorism to widespread attention and international coverage. It was released in India in the form of a book Fatwa on Terrorism and Suicide Bombing, last week at the India Islamic Cultural Centre. Dr Qadri, candid and erudite yet determinedly apolitical, talks to Aradhna Wal decoding the cause of anger among Muslim youth, “true” Sufism and effective ways of combating extremism.

Shaykh-ul-Islam receives warm welcome in India
Mustafavi Students Movement (MSM) organized its three-day training camp at the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, which was presided over by Tajjamal Hussain Inqalabi (central President of MSM). Presidents, Secretary Generals and Secretaries Information of MSM belonging to well over 100 educational institutions including colleges, universities and medical colleges attended the camp.
Continuing a series of courses with different themes, MYL arranged a weekend course at Minhaj-ul-Quran Oslo. The last weekend of February was spent learning about the aims and objectives of MQI and about the personality, work and services of its founder, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul- Qadri and about conformism, “the importance of following someone”.
Sufi scholar Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri Wednesday said that peace is the source and crux of Islam, and that terrorism has no place in the religion. Qadri, the Pakistan-based founder of Minhaj-ul-Quran, was delivering a lecture at the India Islamic Centre to mark the launch of his book, ‘Fatwa on terrorism and suicide bombings’.

His proposed public address at this little-known town saw a string of controversies and the permission for the programme was in a limbo till Thursday night.
