Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has directed the workers of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and Pakistan Awami Tehreek to launch mass contact campaign to bring about change in the system and make ten million people members of MQI. He said that the present system, which has been geared to protect the interests of the 3% of the elite to the detriment of 97% people, is exploitative, anti-democratic and anti-people.
Monthly Spiritual Gathering under Gosh-a-Durood for the month of April was held in the central secretariat of MQI on the 7th of the month. The program was particularly dedicated to the religious scholars, intellectuals, teachers and the students of Jurisprudence. In addition to this, the office holders of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League and senior students of Minhaj Women College also attended the program.

A Historic Mawlid-un-Nabi (S.W.A) Conference was organized by Minhaj-ul-Quran International with the joint effort of Mississauga Muslim Community Center on Sunday April 3, 2011 at the International Centre—one of the prestigious venue of Toronto, Canada. It was a jam packed event attended by over 4000 people from all walks of life, including young and old various prominent scholars, heads of Muslim organizations, community leaders, journalists, electronic & print media and people from across North America, UK & Europe.

Leaders of different faiths stress need for interfaith harmony & sustained engagement to defeat vested interests
Muslim, Christian, Hindu and Sikh leaders forged unity and condemned the desecration of the Holy Quran in the strongest possible words in “Ihtiram-e-Mazahib Conference” organized under the banner of Directorate of Interfaith Relations of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and Muslim-Christian Dialogue Forum in the MQI’s Secretariat in Lahore yesterday.
The last ceremony of week-long celebrations marking the 60th birthday of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri was held on March 26, 2011 under the banner of Bazm-e-Minhaj, College of Shariah and Islamic Sciences. Urdu debate contest and essay writing competition on the subject of “It is the people, not leaders who bring about revolution” were the major events on the last day.
On February 27, 2011, the youth of MQI Nelson and MQWL collectively organized a Mawlid-un-Nabi (SAW) conference to celebrate the birth of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) who was sent down to this world as a ‘mercy to the entire mankind’ .The hosting of the programme was shared by Naushaza Fiaz and Qaria Tahira Basharat.
On 27th March 2011 Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League organized a gathering to celebrate ‘Urs’ of Sayeidna Ghous-e-Azam (RA) and re-tell the events of ‘Giyarven Sharif.’ Like always, the hall was full of devotees of Ghous-e-Azam (RA). Around 200 sisters attended the program.
The Hague – On Sunday March 27th, Mawlid Festival took place for the fourth time: the biggest multicultural event in The Netherlands entirely focused on Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw). This year's theme of the festival was "A struggle of peace, love and knowledge". Minhaj-ul-Quran Youth League NL wanted to dispel the numerous misconceptions regarding Prophet Muhammad (saw) and show his true character.

Directorate of Interfaith Relations, MQI and National Council for Interfaith Dialogue jointly organized a demonstration outside the Lahore Press Club to protest against the desecration of the Holy Quran at the hands of Pastor Terry Jones. The demonstration was led by G.M. Malik, coordinator of DIR, Father Nadeem, Hafiz Ghulam Farid, Ch Muhammad Afzal Gujjra, and Tayab Ziyya.
Analysing Muslims’ downfall (I)
Declamation contests in Arabic and English languages were held on March 24, 2011 on the third day of ‘Ambassador of Peace Celebrations’ under the aegis of College of Shariah & Islamic Sciences (COSIS). The students from the renowned educational institutions of the country participated in the competition. The subject for English speech was “Men, not material make a Nation”.
In a ceremony organized by Directorate of Interfaith Relations of Minhaj-ul-Quran International at Minar-e-Pakistan, Muslim, Hindu and Christian leaders reiterated their pledge to leave no stone unturned for the country’s solidarity and unity and make every possible effort for her progress. The leaders of these communities also prayed for the country to fight off internal and external conspiracies.
