"Namoos-e-Risalat Convention" under the auspicious of Minhaj-ul-Quran International was held on March 2, 2008 in the Minhaj-ul-Quran Park opposite to the Central Secretariat. Organized as an expression of protest against the blasphemous publication of caricatures of the Holy Prophet (saw), the Convention was presided over by Sahibzada Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, the member of Minhaj-ul-Quran Supreme Council. Nazim-e-Ala Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Naib Nazim-e-Ala Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, Secretary General PAT Anwar Akhtar Advocate, Amir-e-Punjab Ahmad Nawaz Anjum, central leader of PAT Chaudhry Muhammad Sahirf, G.M. Malik, Allama Ali Ghazanfer Kararvi, Allama Irshad Hussain Saeedi, Sohail Ahmad Raza, Allama Shahid Lateef Qadri, Allama Haji Imdadulla Khan, Sajid Mahmood Bhatti and other leaders of MQI were also present at the occasion. In continuation of ongoing celebrations marking the 57th birthday of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, 'Ambassador of Peace' conference was organized on February 23, 2008. Held in the Ewan-e-Iqbal (Lahore), the meeting was recognition of global efforts of Shaykh-ul-Islam for the promotion of peace and interfaith harmony. Central Amir Minhaj-ul-Quran International Sahibzada Miskin Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani presided over the event, while Secretary Religious Affairs & Aukaaf Sayed Raees Abbas Zaidi was the guest of honour at the occasion. On the 23rd of February 2008 Allama Hafiz Nazir Qadri, the Ambassador of Minhaj-ul-Quran International arrived in Halifax UK at Muhammad Javid Akhtars residence to perform the opening of the Al-Minhaj Home Weekend Project for boys and girls which was specially done in celebration of Shaykh-ul-Islams 57th birthday.

On Friday 22nd of February 2008 MQI Ireland hosted a gathering for celebration of 57th Birthday of our beloved Quaid Sheikh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. This was the first Quaid Day celebration in Ireland. Prominent pakistani personalities of Ireland including President of PPP Ireland Baloch and PML (N) Dr. Afzal Butt IReland were among the audience.

The 57th birthday of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the ambassador of global peace, was celebrated in the new campus of the Minhaj University Lahore with great love and zeal. The ceremony was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of the Minhaj University Dr Nazir Romani. Central Ameer-e-Tehreek Sahibzada Miskeen Faiz-ur-Rahman Durrani, Nazim-e-Aala Minhaj-ul-Quran International and the Principal of Minhaj University Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi and Naib Nazim-e-Aala Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz also decorated the occasion as chief guests. The registrar of the Minhaj University Col. (R) Muhammad Ahmad, control examinations Chaudhary Muhammad Yaqub and deputy registrar G M Malik were also present on the occasion.
The present global political injustices are classified by international relations experts, as the worst in human history and regrettably terrorism is now linked with Islam. Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, a professor and leading contemporary thinker and author, has clarified how terrorism does not belong to any religion. He makes clear that it is neither an Islamic phenomenon, Jewish or a Christian one, rather it is a social, political and an economical problem.

In this connection a programme was arranged at Farid-e-Millat Research Institute, Central Secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Qur'an Internationl (MQI). The programme commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur'an. It was followed by Naat recitation of the Holy Prophet and greetings and salutations on his person. Sahibzada Husain Muhy-ud-Din Qadri, a member of Supreme council of MQI, presided over the programme.
The birthday of Shaykh-ul-Islam celebrated with great enthusiasm
Dr Muhammad Tahir al-Qadri a renowned Muslim scholar and prolific author reached the age of 57 on Tuesday 19th February 2008. Born in 1951 in the Pakistani province of Punjab Dr Muhammad Tahir al-Qadri founded the Minhaj al-Quran International Organisation in 1979 with centres established in over 82 countries of the world. The organisation aims to provide non-political education and training and campaign for social justice for the communities it works in.
