His Eminence Shaykh-ul-Islam Addresses Tarbiyah Gathering at MQI Oslo Headquarters

Oslo, Norway: His Eminence Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, Prof. Dr. Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri, Chairman Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI), and Dr. Hamza Ansari, visited MQI Oslo, the headquarters of MQI Norway, to participate in a Tarbiyah gathering.
During the session, Shaykh-ul-Islam delivered a comprehensive address emphasizing the importance of creating a safe, structured, and accessible environment for young people to engage meaningfully with their faith. He highlighted the various challenges faced by youth today, including distractions, social pressures, and a weakened sense of connection, all of which can hinder their religious understanding and practice.
A central theme of his address was the need for teaching methods that are simple, relatable, and delivered in a language familiar to learners, particularly during the early stages of religious education. Shaykh-ul-Islam further underlined the importance of fostering strong interpersonal relationships, promoting positive psychological development, and nurturing both intellectual understanding and emotional engagement among youth.
He also provided practical recommendations, including establishing dedicated safe spaces for youth, avoiding complex or controversial topics at the initial stages, and gradually deepening religious knowledge. Shaykh-ul-Islam highlighted the influential role of families—particularly mothers—in shaping children’s religious habits and values. Overall, he advocated for a thoughtful, compassionate, and culturally responsive approach to supporting the spiritual development of the younger generation.
During the gathering, shields were presented to Rabita Committee (Choudhury Mushtaq Ahmed, Chairman Rabita Committee and VP MQI Norway), Arfan Gull Ansari, president, MQI Oslo, Zartash Bashir, former president, MWF, and current VP, MQI Norway.
