On 1st December 2013, the MYLUK Sisters in Halifax held their second seminar. The topic of the seminar was ‘Life & Death’ and was held at the Minhaj Education Centre in Halifax. The team aims to hold one seminar on the first Sunday of each month covering different topics. In recognition of his excellent contributions for promotion of peace, interfaith dialogue, harmony and services for Islam, the royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre, an Aman-based top ranking international research institution, has included the name of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri in its 5th annual issue of The Muslim 500.
Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Chairman of MQI’s Supreme Council, has said that skyrocketing price hike has snatched from people their right to a decent living. He said that the insensitivity of the ruling elite was grinding masses as tsunami of poverty and dearness became a marked feature of daily life. He said that prices of all items were far from being stable and the graph of inflation was registering an upward trend by the day. He said that people had become patients of anxiety and restlessness while the rulers did not have the eyes to witness plight of people, ears to hear their heart-wrenching woes and officials to govern and make life easier for them.
The 30th November 2013 marked the 79th monthly session of Gosha-e-Durood at Minhaj-ul-Qur’an International London. The event began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Hafiz Asim Shabbir, the first hafiz produced by MQI London followed by the recitation of Qaseeda Burda Shareef by the young brothers from MYL London
Every Sunday, the Minhaj Girls Study Circle at Halifax do activities related to different topics of Islam including learning about the five pillars of Islam through physical activities, coloring activities and quizzes. The children are aged between seven years and 14 years of age. The study circle begins with Quranic recitation and concludes with Naat and dua.
MQI (Milano, Italy) arranged a special talk of Ms. Sumaira Faisal, Coordinator of Minhaj Women League and Sister League, Europe) on the subject of Imam Hussain’s (RA) glorious services for promotion of truth, human rights and safeguarding the teachings of Islam in the face of physical, ideological and intellectual onslaught by Yazid. The talk was open for members of Pakistani diaspora community.
A three-member Norwegian delegation of Menigheten Kristen Tjeneste led by senior Pastor Mr. Trygve Brekke visited the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International on the invitation of MQI’s Directorate of Interfaith Relations. Reverend Dr Marqus Fida, Chairman Gospel Mission, also accompanied the delegation.
Earlier, this year, the Tehrik-e-Minhajul Quran chief Dr Tahirul Qadri held a massive protest meeting at the Minar-Pakistan, Lahore. The meeting was attended by hundreds of thousands of his supporters, who remained perfectly calm and poised. Later, the TMQ chief led a large number of people, including women and children, to Islamabad where they continued to sit in for four days in cold and rain. Afterwards, the participants left the D-Chowk in the federal capital and the long march ended peacefully.

A spiritual gathering was arranged by Rushda Hyder at her residence in Scarborough on 24 November 2013 for Muharram-ul-Haram. People belonging to various walks of life including religious, social workers, and women rights activists attended this blessed gathering. Prominent scholar from U.K. Sister Faiza Qadri, President of Minhaj ul Quran Women League Syeda Razia Nuzhat, and General Secretary Shahban Mughl were among the distinguished guest.

MQI questions government’s policy on drones
MSM (Muzzafarabad chapter) organized a ‘Pegham-e-Hussain Conference’ and ‘Pegham-e-Talaba Convention’ which was presided over by the central president Ch Irfan Yousaf. The proceedings of the Convention got underway with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Naat. A ‘manqbat’ was recited in the honour of Hazrat Imam e Hussain (RA). Sardar Ijaz Saddozai, President of PAT Jammu and Kashmir, Ch Zia-ur-Rehman, Ansar-ul-Haq, and a large number of students and workers attended the Convention.
Talking to the guests at the dinner, Dr Abbasi threw light on various welfare projects of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. He briefed the participants about salient features of Minhaj Education City, a mega project of MQI, which is proposed to be built in Pakistan, its aims and objectives and other necessary details. He said that the Education City would prove to be a flagship initiative of MQI, which would set a high benchmark in the field of knowledge and scholarship.
On Monday, the 18th November 2013, Minhaj Women League (Halifax) held its Muharrum programme at the Minhaj Education Project Halifax. Over 120 ladies and sisters attended the programme. The programme began with the ladies reading Durood sharif, it then continued with a short introduction by the Women League President Sister Naid. Quranic recitation tilawat was done and then Sister Iffat Women League General Secretary recited a Hamd.
Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri was the keynote speaker at the inaugural session of the First International Congress of the Holy Quran in Mash’had which was held in the main auditorium of the Free Islamic University, Mash’had. The two-day International Congress of the Holy Quran was attended by hundreds of leading scholars of the Holy Quran from Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, USA, Canada, Tunisia, Kuwait and Kazakhstan. The International Congress was inaugurated with a message from Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, which was read by Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, the Secretary General of the MQI.
UK: Life and contributions of Sayyida Fatima-tuz-Zahra
On Sunday, the 17th November 2013, the Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League (London) organized a Sirat-e-Syeda Fatima-al-Zahra (RA) program. The program commenced after Zuhr Salah with the recitation and translation of verses from the Holy Quran by Sister Zareeda Shafiq and Hafiza Maimuna Bukhari.

Minhaj Women League and Minhaj Sisters League (The Hague) held a Moharram gathering to commemorate the events of Karbala. The programme was held at the Minhaj ul Quran center in The Hague and was attended by women of all ages. The programme commenced with a Quran recitation by Mrs. Sajida Syed Shah followed by a welcome address by Shabana Sarshad Ali. Hamds, Nasheeds and Manqabats were then recited by various sisters.
