MULTAN: “My final contest will be on March 17 in Rawalpindi’s Liaqat Bagh. I will then tell the nation whether to vote in an election or pursue a revolution,” Awami Tehreek president and chairman of the Minhajul Quran International Tahirul Qadri said on Friday. FAISALABAD, Feb 17: Tehrik-i-Minhajul Quran International chief Dr Tahirul Qadri has urged his supporters to get ready for both elections and the revolution and to snatch their rights from the exploiters. He said if elections did not serve the masses, he would go for a peaceful revolution.

He said that the parties of status quo would never want a change in the state of affairs as their interests were connected to the maintenance of system. He said that oppressive and pro-elite system never benefited the poor. He said that the world revolutions bore witness to this fact.

Addressing the participants of mammoth public meeting, Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the landlords had occupied Pakistan. He said: “I have come to rid the country of this occupation mafia and would not be content unless the people got back their due rights.’ He said that the internal structure of Quaid-e-Azam’s Pakistan had been destroyed. ‘Did Quaid-e-Azam want such a Pakistan,’ he asked.
Addressing a crowded press conference in Lahore on February 14, Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that he is professor of law and holds the court in the highest esteem. He made it clear that he would not launch any movement against the judicial observation in regard to his petition. He said that his movement was for the purpose of nation building, which would continue unabated with the same zeal and zest. He said that he wanted to give a bright future to the nation by enabling to get rid of the worst oppressive system.
