Let’s look at some facts about Muhammad Tahir ul-Qadri. In 2011, he, with his organisation Minhaj-ul-Quran, convened the ‘Peace for Humanity Conference’ at London’s Wembly Arena, which was attended by over 12,000 participants. He received supportive messages from people like Ban Ki-Moon, the secretary general of the United Nations, and David Cameron, the British prime minister. He has also released a 600-page fatwa (Islamic ruling) against terrorism. The writing details why it is not Islamic to commit violent acts, complete with Islamic sources that back up that assertion.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has asked the government of Pakistan to file a case in the International Court of Justice, adding that he was ready to plead the case on behalf the people of Pakistan and the Muslim world. MQI convenes National Azmat-e-Rasool (SAW) Conference
Addressing the rally, Mushtaq Suharwardi said that it was about time that the rulers of the Muslim world jumped to action and raised the issue at relevant forums. He said that the sentiments of the Muslims were deeply hurt and if the ideals of peaceful coexistence and interfaith harmony were to be promoted, then legislation aimed at ensuring respect of holy personages and religions was a must.
Of a series of Azmat-e-Rasool (S.A.W.) rallies being organized by Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Multan chapter organized a rally on September 23, 2012, which was attended by a large number of people belonging to various walks of life. The diversity of the protest demonstration proved that the people were on the one page when it comes to defending the honour and sanctity of their beloved Prophet (S.A.W.).
Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the government of Pakistan should have evolved a combined strategy by taking all political and religious parties on board regarding observance of the Day of the Love of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.). In his telephonic address to the participants, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that those who committed blasphemy in the garb of freedom of expression were the worst enemies of humanity and global terrorists. He said that the government should have formulated a comprehensive plan of celebrating ‘Day of love of the holy Prophet (SAW)’ by taking all religious and political parties onboard.

Thousands of the faithful attended Azmat-e-Rasool (S.A.W.) Rally in Karachi on September 21 as a demonstration of their devotion to the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.). The rally was held under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (Karachi chapter). The participants carried banners and placards with anti-movie slogans written on them.
The brave people of Peshwar city got together to attend Azmat-e-Rasool Rally (S.A.W.) organized under the aegis of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (Peshwar chapter) on September 21 to show their love and reverence for the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.). The protestors were carrying placards and banners in which pro-peace and anti-movie slogans were written.
