Deputy Mayor of Barcelona Municipal Council, Mr. Carles Marti, paid a visit to Minhaj Islamic Centre, Barcelona, on the special invitation of Minhaj Reconciliation Council on April 30, 2009. He was also accompanied by Paco Salvador, vice president of Municipal Cooperation of ancient city i.e. Clutat Vella and in-charge of expatriates’ affairs Mr. Daniel de Torres at the occasion.
Under the instructions of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, Minhaj Welfare Foundation has launched relief and rehabilitation efforts for the Internally Displaced persons (IDPs). MQI chapters across Pakistan and around the world have started to organize relief camps in this regard. Minhaj Welfare Foundation has also set up a special relief Fund.

Felicitating the Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulama Council on the successful conduct of “Tahffuz-e-Pakistan Ulama & Mashaykh Convention”, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri dubbed the moot as the ‘immediate need of the hour’. He said that unfortunately a minority group was defaming Islam globally by undertaking self-seeking and self-styled interpretation of Islamic teachings and thus providing the anti-Islam forces with the justification to accomplish their nefarious designs against the faith.
Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulama Council hosted "Tahaffuz-e-Pakistan Ulama-o-Mashaykh Convention" in its central secretariat in Model Town, Lahore, which was attended by prominent religious scholars and Mashaykhs from across Pakistan.

The 41st monthly spiritual gathering of Gosha-e-Durood was held on May 7, 2009 on the roof of Suffa hall of the central secretariat. Amir-e-Tehreek Faiz-ur-Rahman Durrani presided over the programme, whereas Nazim-e-Ala Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Sq. Leader (r) Abdul Aziz, Rana Farooq Ahmad Mahmood, Rana Fayyaz Ahmad Khan, Rana Muhammad Idrees Qadri, Anwar Akhtar Advocate, Mutfi Abdul Qayyum Khan Hazarvi, Prof Muhammad Nawaz Zafar, Ahmad Nawaz Anjum, Haji Muhammad Saleem Qadri, Haji Riaz Ahmad, Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal Azam, Muhammad Bilal Uppal, Shahnawaz Uppal, Prof Zulifqar Ali, Zahid Mahmood Qadri, Jawad Hamid, Muhammad Aqil Malik, Sajid Mahmood Bhatti, Shahzad Rasul Qadri and other leaders were also in attendance.
The College of Shariah & Islamic Sciences of Minhaj University organized an extension lecture in the University Model Town campus on May 5, 2009. Renowned TV journalist and anchor of famous programme ‘Jawab Deh”, Iftikhar Ahmad, was the speaker who delivered his speech on the subject of “Pakistan—conspiracies, problems and their solutions”.

The National Peace Council Meeting was held in Central Secretariat Minhaj-ul-Quran International attended by Nazim-e-Aala MQI Dr Raheeq Ahmed Abbasi, Muslim League (Q) leader Mehnaz Rafee, ANP Secy Gen Ihsan Wain, Senior journalist Iftikhar Ahmed, Secy Gen Anwaar Akhtar Advocate, Khaksar Movement leader Hameed-ud-Din al-Mashriqi, Jawad Hamid, renowned legal expert Khadim Hussain, President International Commission of Human Rights Sohail Akhtar, Col. Retd. LK Tressler, Shia Political Party Leader Sayyid Naubhar Shah and others.
Minhaj-ul-Quran International (Glasgow) held their second Halqa Durood o Salam in their new centre. The programme commenced with Recitation of Qur'an by Hafiz Sajid Mahmood Sahib a followed by Na'at Sharif by Muhammad Waheed Raza and Qaseeda Burda Sharif in traditional Arabic style by Shaykh Muhammad Abbas Somali.

On April 28, 2009, certificate distribution ceremony was held under the banner of Director of Training of MQI. One month long computer training course was organized for the staff of the central secretariat with the cooperation of Minhaj Internet Bureau. At the conclusion of the course, written and practical tests of the candidates were conducted and students passing the examination were awarded certificates.
The bi-monthly meeting of Minhaj-ul-Quran National Executive Council (MQI-NEC UK) was held in the Minhaj-ul-Quran International (London), on April 26, 2009 in which a number of important matters including Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri Sahib’s UK Tour 2009 and President Supreme Council Sahibzada Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri & Nazim e A’ala Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi Sahib’s Tour 2009 and Al-Hidayah 2009 came under discussion.
Minhaj-ul-Quran Italy organized Mahfil-e-Milad in a beautifully decorated hall. In addition to men and women, a large number of children also participated in the programme. Sayyid Ghulam Mustafa Mash’hadi was the guest of honour at the occasion. The proceedings of the programme got under way with the recitation from the Holy Quran followed by Naat Khawani. Children were also among the Naat Khawans.
Central organization of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League (Norway) organized a sumptuous dinner in the honor of local chapter of MWL Draman. The ceremony was held on April 25, 2009, which was attended by all central office holders, Minhaj Sisters Norway and the management of Daraman centre.
It is a matter of great pleasure and honour for the leaders, affiliates and workers of Minhaj-ul-Quran International that Sahibzada Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, member of MQI Supreme Council, has won the students' presidential election in Australian university where he is currently doing his doctorate in global political economy.
In the Netherlands, Minhaj Youth League initiated the ‘Milaad Festival’ in 1999 which, since then, has developed into the biggest Milād celebration for Muslim youth in this country. On the 11th of April 2009, after nearly six months of preparations the team of approximately 40 volunteers saw their dream come true once again.
