MQI contacts leaders of different parties for participation in Ghaza Conference
Minhaj-ul-Quran International has begun to extend invitations to the leaderships of different religious & political parties, members of civil society, businessmen and NGOs representatives for participation in the upcoming Gaza Conference to be held on January 25 under its aegis.
Students at Minhaj-ul-Qur’an International London visited St Johns Church in Stratford (East London) as part of their interfaith work with the Faithful Friends organisation. The first visit of this project was to Minhaj-ul-Qur’an International London itself. At St Johns Church, some photos were displayed using a projector screen with the attendees being asked how important they were to them in their daily lives and whether they held any religious importance.
Minhaj-ul-Quran International has decided to organize 'Ghaza Conference' for rehabilitation of the affected Palestinians and reconstruction of Ghaza on January 25 (Sunday). Palestinian ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Jaser Ahmad, will be the chief guest at the occasion. Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, declared this in a press conference in the Lahore Press Club.

Joint session of Federal Council of PAT & Majlis-e-Shura of MQI concludes
The joint session of Federal Council of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Majlis-e-Shura of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, which continued for two consecutive days, concluded on January 18, 2009. Addressing the joint session telephonically from Canada, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the Muslim Umma was confronted with most difficult, perilous and trying times.
Joint session of Federal Council of PAT and Shura of MQI begins
The annual meeting of Minhaj European Council was held in the Minhaj Islamic Centre, Barcelona, on January 17, 2009 in which a number of issues came under discussion. Amir of MEC Allama Hassan Mir Qadri, president Syed Muhammad Arshad Shah, Secretary General Allama Muhammad Iqbal Azam, senior vice President Muhammad Naeem Chaudhry, Nazim Welfare Dr Abid Aziz Khan, Nazim Minhaj Reconciliation Council Ijaz Ahmad Warriach, and Secretary Information Naveed Ahmad Undalsi participated in the meeting.
Minhaj-ul-Quran International (Manchester chapter) took out protest demonstration against the Israeli atrocities perpetrated on the innocent Palestinians on January 14, 2009. Principal of Farghana Institute and scholar Allama Muhammad Ramzan Qadri, president Muslim League Britain Zaigham Khan, Ms Ateequllah Butt, Ms Ramzan Qadri, and Secretary General Women League Ms Hafiza Naheed Shahid from Halifax led the demonstration.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has launched a fund with initial amount of Rs. 5 million for the help of the displaced Palestinian Muslims who have fallen victim to the naked barbarism and state terrorism of Israel.
Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) held peaceful protest demonstrations against Israel. PAT President (Sindh chapter) Dr S.M. Zameer, vice President Hamza Dawood, Amir (MQI, Karachi) Iqbal, nabi Amir Qasir Iqbal Qadri, Latafat Mahmood, MYL president Rao Kamran, and MWL leader Ms Nasreen led the protest.
The official opening of the Multimedia website www.islamTune.com was done on the auspicious occasion of Ashura. The programme was held personally by Qibla Huzoor. The programme started with the recitation of holy Qur'an by renowned Qari Ahmed Awan and Qari Shafiq, after the iftar and Maghreb prayer. Kashif javed from MQI Vancouver Canada teamed up with Hashim Ali Qadri from MQI Toronto Canada to carry on with the presentation of newly created web-site.
In order to pay tribute to Hazrat Imam Hussain (ra) for matchless sacrifice for the cause of Islam and human rights, MQI Haig organized "Shahdat-e-Imam Hussain Conference". Hafiz Habib-ur-Rehman conducted the proceedings of the programme. The program started with the recitation from the Holy Quran by Zeeshan Amanat Ali Chohan followed by Naat which was recited by Sheeraz Malik.
Marking the great sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS), a joint programme of monthly spiritual gathering and ‘Martyrdom of Imam Hussain Conference’ took place on January 7, 2009 in the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International.

Minhaj-ul-Quran International Oslo organized 'Shahdat-e-Imam Hussain Conference' in the memory of Hazrat Imam Hussain (ra) in which a delegation of the Iranian embassy also participated. In addition to Hazrat Allama Hafiz Sheraz, the Imam of Ghosia Muslim Society and Imam Ahl-e-Sunna Oslo Qari Mahmood-ul-Hassan Chishti, a large number of men and women also participated.
Minhaj-ul-Quran International France hosted a reception in the honour of Naib Nazim-e-Ala Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz on January 2, 2009 at the conclusion of his visit of France. The reception was attended by a large number of people belonging to different walks of life including the members of present and former National Executive Council.
