A meeting of the MQI Central Working Council was held here at the central secretariat with Chairman Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri. The meeting reviewed the ongoing rescue and relief operations being carried out under the banner of Minhaj Welfare Foundation.
In addition to the food bags to the thousands of flood victims, specially prepared hygiene kits are being provided under the banner of Minhaj Welfare Foundation. Hygiene kits consist of detergent powder, bath soup, tooth paste, tooth brush, undergarments, pads and mugs.

MQI Ferozwala organized a Khatm-e-Nubuwwat Conference in which President MQI Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri delivered his keynote address. In addition to the leaders and associates of MQI, thousands of the faithful including Mashaykh, religious scholars, journalists and other segments of society attended the spiritual gathering.
In a telethon of MQI President Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri that he held for the support of flood victims in Pakistan, the people who joined the telethon have deposited Rs. 100 million in Pakistani currency. All the donors have deposited their contributions with the Minhaj Welfare Foundation.
Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri has expressed his satisfaction on the ongoing rescue and relief activities being undertaken by Minhaj Welfare Foundation in the flood hit areas and thanked the volunteers and MQI workers for their service.
All forums of MQI Central Punjab have set up flood relief camps at more than 200 places for the rescue and relief of the flood victims as part of a campaign under the banner of Minhaj Welfare Foundation. MQI continues to be at the forefront of rescue and relief activities.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri asked the youth, doctors and volunteers associated with MQI to spend some of their time for the service of the flood victims. He said that all such workers can render service in the nearby flood affected areas.
Professors, teachers and the staff members of Minhaj University Lahore have donated the 5% of their salary to the flood relief fund for three consecutive months. The students of the University have also established a flood relief camp where donations and pocket money are being deposited.
Engineer Muhammad Rafique Najam has said that helping the flood affectees who have been rendered homeless is the best form of worship and a noble gesture. He said that collecting donations and then disbursing them among the deserving people is a huge responsibility, adding that this responsibility should be prioritized.
On the direction of Chairman MQI Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, an emergency meeting of the Central Working Council (CWC) was held here at the central secretariat. The meeting decided to donate one day’s salary of the staff of MQI secretariat to the flood-related welfare activities. On the direction of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the CWC also set up a committee to consider the concession in fees of the students whose houses were destroyed and the businesses of their parents were affected in the floods.

Ashraf Heera, the young internationally known calligrapher who won many laurels for the country and introduced innovation in calligraphy, visited the central secretariat of MQI and met with Mazhar Mahmood Alvi, MYL president. On his arrival, Mazhar Ali welcomed the guest and paid him rich tributes for making a mark in the craft of calligraphy.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has expressed his deep sense of grief and sorrow on the loss of precious lives and ravages caused by the flash floods and torrential rains across the country. He issued immediate instructions to Minhaj Welfare Foundation, MQI and PAT workers to take active part in rescue and relief operations for the flood affectees.
The youth should engage in the dawah work through the positive use of social media platforms for the establishment of Mustafavi society. Social media is the best form of public communication in our times.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri threw light on the challenge of misconceptions about Islam in the Western world. He said that all those living overseas are ambassadors of their country and religion, adding that they should demonstrate excellent behavior and be the source of peace and harmony in society.
